I really like them all, apart from Lottie. I don't like "ditzy" names for girls, Lottie, Dottie, Maisie, Mitzi, Missy etc.
The others are all lovely, I particularly like Erin and Etta.

timoteigirl · 03/11/2025 12:43

Phoebe. It's the only one I like. Erin is a middle aged name. Etta does feel like real name. Ottilie trendy on MN but quite a hard name, I personally like a combo of softer and harder sounds. Ada quite common, for short name I prefer Ida or Eva. Harriet not to my taste. Robyn is also okay.

Mumofgirls2017 · 03/11/2025 12:43

Etta

love the vintage vibe and its less common

Emanwenym · 03/11/2025 12:44

In order:
Harriet - like it a lot. Like Hattie too
Phoebe - like it, don't like Phoebs
Lottie - ok if short for Charlotte, not keen

Rejects, in order:
Etta- ate a.....Might be OK if short for something but not as a full name
Ada - don't like it. Ay-duh.
Erin - ok but mean girl vibes
Robyn - not keen
Ottilie - don't like it at all

Forgottenmyphone · 03/11/2025 13:13

My favourite is Harriet. It’s classic, elegant, and has nickname potential

CubanPete · 03/11/2025 15:05

Ada

Iocanepowder · 03/11/2025 15:06

Fave is harriet.

Ada is getting too popular I believe.

Ottilie I don’t like

I'm intrigued that you think Erin is a middle aged name - I have a relative born in the 70s who is an Erin and there were NO others at all, anywhere, she couldn't get anything with her name on, and nobody knew how to pronounce it. On the other hand DS (now a teen) had two Erins in his class. Are your middle aged Erins somewhere other than England?

Yes, the two Erins I know are university students, aged 19/20.

Enko · 03/11/2025 15:12

Of your choices

Phoebe. Dd1s name I still love it 28 years on

Etta because its a known name but not a weird name. Sweet spot for me

I have never liked Erin
the others to me are just run od the mill names. .

elliesmummy19 · 03/11/2025 15:33

I think Harriet is my favourite out of the list but they’re all lovely names.

Namehelp987654321 · 03/11/2025 18:06

Lovely list - my faves are Robyn, Erin and Phoebe

Moreteaandchocolate · 03/11/2025 19:23

I love Erin, Ada, Phoebe and Harriet.

Top two are Phoebe and Harriet - both are lovely classics. I’d probably pick Phoebe because I’m not massively keen on the nn Hattie.

Ada is lovely but similar to Ava, which is super popular, and could get misheard / mixed up with Ava. Erin is very chic but very slightly dated now - the ones I know are teens.

Lottie and Etta are nice but I prefer as nn’s.

Ottilie is a bit trendy for me.

user2848502016 · 03/11/2025 19:26

Lottie but as a nn for Charlotte
Also like Phoebe

theunbreakablecleopatrajones · 03/11/2025 19:58

I love Robin but it's having a moment with similar names like Rowan so would perhaps go with the more timeless Harriet. Phoebe also nice, but again, it's having a moment

Erin - it's a bit 90s and a bit low rent
Ada - always sounds harsh to me. Ida? Or Oona?
Ottilie - it's having a moment (and it's oh so fussy) Verity?
Lottie - love Charlotte but Lottie way too nursery to be a full name
Etta - like Ada it sounds hard to me. Esther or Tessa perhaps

ChocolateCinderToffee · 04/11/2025 22:57

Phoebe Harriet.

DramaAlpaca · 04/11/2025 23:04

My favourite is Harriet.

shoopshoopdedoo · 05/11/2025 23:10

Phoebe is my favourite
Really like Harriet
Like Lottie (if Charlotte)
Erin is OK

Not keen on Robyn or Etta
Dislike Ada (can’t un-hear “first aider”)
Really dislike Ottilie

flossie72 · 05/11/2025 23:17

Robyn is my favourite. Strong, timeless and pretty without being cutesy. Erin a close second.

Elephantangel1991 · 06/11/2025 14:23

Phoebe or Harriet

Hazelmaybe · 06/11/2025 21:27

Phoebe is lovely

Myoldbear · 06/11/2025 21:58

Another vote for Harriet

Exactly this.

Pemba · 10/11/2025 15:02

Phoebe or Harriet are nice.

Or Lottie, but only if it's short for Charlotte, otherwise it's too cutesy.
