we are narrowing it down thank you all for your help so far, we have a daughter named Camilla and we call her Millie for short so we want another longer name with a cute nickname here are the options:

Camilla & Carlotta (Millie & Lottie)
Camilla & Charlotte (Millie & Lottie)
Camilla & Catherine (Millie & Kittie)

Camilla’s middle name is Marie and new baby would have the middle name Grace

our boys name option is:

Camilla & Oliver (Millie & Ollie)

we can’t think of any other boy options but the middle name would be George

thanks interested to know your thoughts

Camilla and Carlotta sounds a bit of a mouthful to me. I like Camilla and Catherine best, if you’re using the full babes, although Millie and Lottie are nice together.

Camilla and Oliver sound nice together, and so do the shortened forms.

nellietheellie75 · 31/08/2025 09:21

I love Charlotte, and think Charlotte Grace is really pretty. Catherine, I like, but don't like Cath, Cathy. I've never heard of Carlotta before, but can't say it's to my taste.

LiquoriceAllsorts2 · 31/08/2025 09:55

Another girls options could be Harriet/Hattie. Has a similar vibe to Lottie.

out of your girls options I can’t decide but would choose Lottie over kittie probably but also like Kitty.

for boys Ollie is nice. What about Alexander (Xander), Louis or Hugo.

Spies · 31/08/2025 09:59

Personally they sound very matchy. I would choose Grace instead and if you wanted a nickname call her Gracie. It's a shame it often gets relegated to a middle name as it's a very pretty name.

BoleynMemories13 · 31/08/2025 10:17

Carlotta is too much of a mouthful with Camilla (or even as an individual name!).

Charlotte is lovely, but both Charlotte and Catherine sound very 'royal' as a sibset when paired with Camilla. I do like Charlotte as an individual name though.

How about Olivia (Livie) if you like Oliver for a boy? Or Grace as a first name? Grace Charlotte or Grace Catherine would be nice.

mnbvqwertyqwerty · 31/08/2025 10:19

I like Catherine best, but in your case would spell it with a K (Katherine) so that you don't have two daughters with the same initials.

FYI Camilla, Charlotte and Catherine are all names of our royal family so people might assume you are a fan.

Francescarae · 31/08/2025 10:27

thanks for your suggestions I’m not a fan of Grace as a first name although pretty it’s very short and doesn’t go well with Camilla

im not sure if the royal connection would be a problem though that’s why I thought Carlotta might be better, I like Olivia but it’s very common and not sure if I like livvie as a nickname x

Olivia is popular, but no more so than Oliver. You could always have Ollie for a girl too? Or just Liv?

I understand the syllable thing with Grace, but I actually think it goes well with Camilla. Both are very 'sophisticated' names, so stylistically I don't think they're wildly different. Obviously it's up to you though.

Emanwenym · 31/08/2025 10:56

Go for the name you like best.
If you are only going to be using Millie and Lottie, the full names being a bit matchy-matchy doesn't matter.
Kitty is better than Kittie.

They will be knows as Millie & Lottie or Millie & Kittie or Kitty, I’m now thinking Millie & Lottie probably sound better together, everyone calls Camilla Millie but it’s important to me that they have full names for when they grow up, I have a long name that i use for work and I am very grateful not just have a “nickname” name.

i did slightly prefer Carlotta to Charlotte but maybe it is a bit of a mouthful, it’s a big decision, surname ends in an “uh” sound like Camilla that’s why I liked Oliver too as same sound ending if that makes sense

Camilla and Carlotta is my favourite pairing. Not a fan of Charlotte. Catherine/Kitty is fine but it does sound a bit 'royal family'.

Norastroud · 31/08/2025 15:16

I think Camilla & Charlotte are lovely together - Millie & Lottie really nice too 😊

Do you think Carlotta is too unusual? I do like the siping of them together

OP posts:
Emanwenym · 31/08/2025 17:04

What is siping?
It's a bit unusual, but you say she'll be Lottie, which isn't.

LivingTheDreamish · 31/08/2025 18:26

I absolutely love Carlotta and is sounds like you do too but are a bit nervous of using it - you have no need, it's fabulous and goes very nicely with Camilla. It is a bit more unusual but I don't see that as detrimental. I don't think you can use Charlotte or Catherine because of the royal connection.

Moreteaandchocolate · 31/08/2025 19:50

All 3 are nice options. I slightly prefer Lottie to Kittie, so would pick Carlotta or Charlotte, whichever is your favourite 🤩 Carlotta is my favourite of the two - it’s so pretty and she has the option of Carly if she likes too.

Thewalrusandthecarpenter · 31/08/2025 20:18

I really like Carlotta. The only one I’ve ever heard of was the circus girl in St Clare’s - she had a fiery temper but was popular and I think fair, which was most important.

Alexandrine · 31/08/2025 22:49

I like Oliver with Camilla. But personally I prefer same sex siblings to have different initials so as much as I do like classic Catherine, for a sister I’d probably pick a more similar style name to Camilla - maybe something also Latin (or Ancient Greek) like Antonia (Annie/Anya), Marina (Marnie), Helena (Nell/Nellie), Louisa (Lulu), Julia, Serena, Lydia, Diana etc. Or even Olivia (Livy) if you aren’t intending to have a 3rd child to use Oliver!

DurdleSnore · 02/09/2025 08:02

Camilla paired with Catherine or Charlotte would be way too Royal Family for me.

I like Carlotta of your three (Enid Blyton fan!) and Millie and Lottie go well together.

I also like Harriet as pp said - it’s a similar vibe to Camilla and gives Hattie as a nn.

I don't think it's too unusual, names come in all shapes and sizes these days! To me it just has an Italian or Spanish feel to it as I assume it's the Italian version of Charlotte. And I much prefer it to Charlotte.

It's very Spanish Harlem/ tragic showgirl.

mathanxiety · 04/09/2025 02:19

How about Camilla and Catalina if you like the feel of Carlotta?

You would steer clear of the RF issue with 'Catherine' and you could still end up with the NN Kittie.

Squishymallows · 04/09/2025 03:01

Carlotta sound European. People will ask oh where’s that from? Doesn’t sound like she’s got two English parents (don’t know if you are Italian or Spanish or something in which case crack on!)

WhereYouLeastExpect · 04/09/2025 09:16

What about Katrina or Kathleen with nickname Kitty? Moves away from the royal connection.

Emmeline nicknames Emmie

Marina nickname Marnie

Francesca nickname Frankie

Alexandra nickname Lexi

I actually know an Olivia who goes by Ollie, so you could use that for a girl as well.

Paulina nickname Polly

Boys:
Leonardo nickname Lenny

Theodore nickname Teddy

Frederick nickname Freddie or Ricky

Richard nickname Richie

Jonathan nickname Jonny

Gillyyy · 04/09/2025 17:47

I think out of your options I’d go for Charlotte and Lottie, but I think they are all quite matchy matchy and quite royal, I think if I was choosing I would maybe go for:

Beatrix/Beatrice Grace -
formal : Camilla & Beatrix
nickname options : Millie & Trixie, Millie & Bea, Millie & Bertie.

Josephine Grace
Camilla & Josephine
Millie & Josie

Harriet Grace
Camilla & Harriet
Millie & Hattie
