George or Maxwell my DILEMMA !!

I´m having a boy and my DH wants to keep the familly name tradition going unfortunately i´m not keen,I don´t mind Max but hate Maxwell(sorry all Maxwell´s)
any suggestions as to how i can compromise on Maxwell at the moment George is miles ahead !

Oh, and Maxim (de Winter) is the male character in the Daphne du Maurier novel "Rebecca" so it is a real name.

Macsen is Welsh for Maximillian

Goerge is cute. Maxwell reminds me of Robert and House!

What about Magnus or Marcus?

They have a bit of Max about them, but they are more unusual. I prefer them tbh.

I had an awful uncle Max, but I can see why the name has such (wide) appeal.

Gus is like a cross between Max and George. I love George btw.

I really struggled for ages with names. I loved Max but hated
Maxwell. My baby boy is now 8 weeks old and we called him Max. Simple as that. I love it!

Max is ok. Maxwell sounds chavvy or like a soul singer. George is horrible. (Sorry).

Is Maxwell the family name that DH wants to keep? Is his name Maxwell? What's the tradition - that the first boys born in each generation are called Maxwell?

I love Maxim, and Maximilian. But if DH wants to keep bthe tradition going, you could Christian DS Maxwell George but only actually ever call him George. So it won't matter or be used until he gets married, etc.
