No
the 2 vowels are awkward

CoastalCalm · 13/07/2025 16:45

Sounds like my imagination in a different language - clumsy

IMissSparkling · 13/07/2025 16:45

Nope. Flows better as Imogen Mia as there's a better distinction between the names.

girljulian · 13/07/2025 16:45

No, don’t put two vowels together, it’s hard to say

EmpressaurusKitty · 13/07/2025 16:46

Imogen Mia flows better & you could still call her Mia for everyday.

DisplayPurposesOnly · 13/07/2025 16:46

It's fine. You won't say them together often.

NoisyMonster678 · 13/07/2025 16:48

Yeah Imogen Mia does flow better and are both beautiful names.

Baguettesandcheeseforever · 13/07/2025 16:48

Not really. 2 lovely names on their own but don’t flow together. What about Mia Elizabeth or Mia Faith, Mia Violet, Mia Hope….

Ellmau · 13/07/2025 17:22

What about Mia Genevieve?

DriveboyDogboy · 13/07/2025 17:37

As a double barreled first name or a first and middle name? If it's the latter, don't overthink it - how often are people addressed by their first and middle, or their full name?

DramaAlpaca · 13/07/2025 17:38

As others have said already, they don't flow that way round but Imogen Mia flows nicely.

Goldencats · 13/07/2025 17:42

Is this as two first names or as a first name and middle name? If the latter does it really matter? How often does anyone state their full name?

saraclara · 13/07/2025 17:44

Nope. It will end up with a joining r. Mee-uh-Rimogen

StrawberryCranberry · 13/07/2025 17:45

How are you pronouncing Mia? Me-a or May-a or Meye-a?

Amyjade2022 · 13/07/2025 18:29

It would be as two separate names not double barrelled and I love Imogen so would have it that way round but OH prefers Mia.
also not sure if ‘Mia’ has a middle name feel to it! Thanks for the comments

preference on just Mia or Imogen with a different middle name?

Ohrightyho · 13/07/2025 18:33

Pick which ever name you jointly like best for the first name. And yes, Mia can be a middle name.

As to whether they flow - it really doesn’t matter. I have teenagers and I last used their middle names in any way… about 3 years ago when I had to tell DS how to spell it for his SATs papers (foreign name from DH’s family).

I do love Imogen by the way.

Emanwenym · 13/07/2025 19:02

Imogen is much nicer than Mia.
Mia sounds like Mere.

Don't use the known as name as the middle name as it's a PITA.

GreatestExpectations · 13/07/2025 19:12

Love the name Imogen - but biased as it’s my daughters name Smile Rose is her middle name

Amyjade2022 · 13/07/2025 19:20

I love the name Imogen! Mia is lovely too. I like Mia Imogen, but would personally choose Imogen Mia as Imogen is my favourite 🤩

rwalker · 13/07/2025 19:25

Ether Imogen or Mia yet to find the point of or a use for a middle name

Emanwenym · 13/07/2025 19:58

@rwalker , they are useful if you have a common first name and surname. Chances are that the two Lily Smiths will be Lily Rose, and the two Noah Smiths will be Noah James.

LiquoriceAllsorts2 · 13/07/2025 20:34

Mia imogen sounds like a weird way of saying my imagination and is hard to say.

definitely change to imogen Mia or use just one of them.

I do like both names although personally prefer imogen to Mia, they just don’t fit together as Mia imogen
