Help Margot or Monroe or something else

We have loved the name Margot but in the past 18 months or so we feel it has become incredibly popular and not so sure anymore.
Is Monroe a good alternative?

We are really stuck but we keep going back to Margot but just not sure anymore, really worried there will be multiple in her class and be known as Margot D.

We are looking for a fun but beautiful name.

Margot's very cute but there are a few around. Primrose also seems to be on the up. I liked Celeste (Cece) until someone pointed out it's a birth control pill 😂 There was a Celine at my DD's nursery which I thought was quite cute and could also be Cece.
I LOVE Penelope. A friend of a friend called her DD that ~10 years ago and since then I have always thought how lovely it is. I haven't heard of many others either!

Margot is a beautiful name, also love Clementine and Penelope, all strong names

Why don't you have Marilyn instead of Monroe?
Monroe also reminds me of the word mongol. Not nice at all.
There are lots of Margots atm.

Jeff Lewis, of the American tv show "Flipping Out", has a daughter named Monroe, together with his former partner Gage Edward.

Winifred, Stella, Clementine and Celeste are my favourites and less likely to be numerous in a class. However probably also be the only Margot in class on average.

Margot is ok but I think v trendy. I think I prefer Montpellier but it does seem like a homage to Marilyn so if that’s not your vibe I wouldn’t go for it

I prefer Celeste, Penelope and Stella from your list.

Marlo is awful. I don't like Carys. Lilah is likely to be one of many Lila, Lilah, Lylas.

Monroe?? For a girl. Beyond dire. Margot is a very nice name.

Margot is a bit twee for me, I do know a couple of boys called Munro but we are in Scotland, Monroe spelling is dire.

I really like Monroe, I know a Monroe (girl) and always thought how cool the name is.

I actually like most of the names on your list but not the shortened versions that you have. Primrose is a lovely name but Prim is hideous. Clementine is a lovely name but Clemmy is awful. Ophelia is nice but not Fifi or Effie. Interesting that you didn’t mention Penny as an abbreviation for Penelope; that would be nice!

How about Juno?

I love Penelope and would call her Nel as an alternative to Penny.

Cecelia is a great name and has the vibes you’re going for. I’ve only ever met one in real life.

Margot has 70’s vibes so how about names like Sylvia, Marion/Marianne, Frances/Francesca, Lynne/Lynette or Cynthia?

It's your favourite and you keep coming back to it.
Of your other names I like Stella. Has a similar feel/era to me. I don't necessarily think your child will be in a class with another. As a registrar I must have registered 100s of babies but even the top 10 names don't actually come up that often!

also Margot is a lovely name. Just because a name is in the top 10 or whatever doesn’t mean little one will have one in their class…Noah & Olivia were the most popular name in Scotland, I know one baby Noah and no Olivias.

Popular names are popular because people like them. That being said I have 3 kids in primary school and haven't met any Margots so they aren't that common in my world!
