Thomas and Alexander are nice.

I don't like the others and they are quite dated.
None of them are unique though.

BoleynMemories13 · 16/04/2025 22:13

Definitely none of them are unique, not that that's a bad thing!

Thomas and Alexander are by far the nicest. Both traditional classics.

Greg is awful as a stand alone name. Gregory is ok, but dated. Likewise Martin. Justin sounds like you're attempting to be cool, but missing the mark wildly. Justin may have been quite 'cool' in the 80s and 90s. It definitely isn't any more.

You really can't go wrong with Thomas or Alexander though.

SkaneTos · 16/04/2025 22:14

They are all good names.
I voted for Thomas.

CarriMarie · 16/04/2025 22:16

I like Gregory best but Martin is least popular and could be due a comeback.

LilyJosephine · 16/04/2025 22:17

Thomas or Alexander - can’t beat a timeless, international classic. Personally I’d lean slightly towards Thomas as it’s shorter/simpler but many people like that Alexander has a lot of nickname options.

Moreteaandchocolate · 16/04/2025 22:23

None are unique but Thomas and Alexander are lovely ☺️

sunnydayz43 · 16/04/2025 22:30

I agree with previous poster.
I don't think any of them are what could be called unique.
I do think that Thomas Alexander sound really well together, first and middle names.

Enoughisenough689 · 16/04/2025 22:31

I’ve always liked Gregory

StScholastica · 16/04/2025 23:47

Tommy

JudasTree · 17/04/2025 00:02

None of them are in anyway ‘unique’. Thomas and Alexander are timeless, dullish classics. Marty/Martin, Justin and Greg are slightly dweeby.

I quite like Gregory,though.

Moveoverdarlin · 17/04/2025 00:08

Hardly unique. But zero baby boys will be called Greg, Marty or Martin in the UK at least. I know 4 Greg’s - all over 50, same with Martin. Marty sounds like an American High School soccer star in the 1980s.

Thomas and Alexander are acceptable but very popular. Justin is really dated to me, but not quite as dated as Martin and Greg.

CarpetKnees · 17/04/2025 00:22

None of them are unique.

Presuming you mean which ones are nice / do we like, I personally like Thomas and Alexander the best out of your list. I also quite like Martin - not one I've heard a baby or child called for quite a while.

Reddelilah · 17/04/2025 06:47

None of them are unique

If you mean less common then I would say Greg and Martin

Thomas and Alexander are very common and I know sooo many men/boys called Tom or Alex. I also know several females called Alex (andra)

Gregory John and Martin Bruce

TheSandgroper · 23/04/2025 01:04

Gregory and Martin mean that your child is likely to be the only child in the school with the name. That can be useful. They are both good names and people will know how to spell and pronounce them which is always a tick in the pro box. They aren’t particularly boys names but they are very much mens names. I prefer a name that sounds better on a grown up.

And I like them both.

Thomas and Alexander are also good, if reasonably popular. I am the age to have known quite a few Justins and still think it’s a boys name rather than a man. A 60+ year old Justin seems like it doesn’t fit.
