For context (if important) we are in the UK. I love all of these but can’t tell if they’re great names or pregnancy hormones.

Girl

Hera •

Inez - my personal favourite, I don’t like the way Ines is spelt but my boyfriend thinks this looks more authentic…

Gali

Iris (was our original name years ago but it’s very popular now so I don’t know if it will date badly - ironic seeing as it is an old lady name!)

Sadie

Etta (I used to love, but I am a NICU nurse and have seen a lot in the last year)

Selah

We also like (not love)

Audrey

Bonnie

Nia

Daphne

Tallulah (we actually adore, but it’s a bit in your face and some bad connotations)

  • but our son was named from our ‘like’ list and now we love his name….

Middle name options:

Joanie • (main contender, sentimental)

Juno • (second because it’s my fave name ever)

Lily •

Dotty •

Morgan •

Boys:

Soren
Raphael (nearly our seconds name)•

Axel

Solomon (Sol mainly for short)

Enzo (boyfriend less keen on this)

Otto

Idris

Asa

Ambrose (we love but a bit pretentious?)

Middle names:
Tate •

Angelo •

Dylan •

Aaron •

Not that it should matter but our baby will be mixed race and has a multitude of different cultures onboard

Thank you!

ps. If it helps - our others have biblical or hebrew names which aren’t unheard of.

Inez Joanie
Iris Juno
Daphne Lily

I like all the names & potential combinations you’ve chosen but these are probably my personal favourite 3.

Raphael Tate
Ambrose Dylan
Soren Angelo

I know choosing three names for each gender isn’t exactly helpful OP but these are the ones that look & sound nice to me.

Congratulations on baby number 3 & I’m sure whichever names you end up choosing will be perfect 😊

They are all lovely names.
Inspired from your list my favourite three are ..

Inez Joanie
Audrey Joan
Angela Joan

Raphael Tate
Otto Angelo
Neil Raphael

I love Iris, Sadie and Nia.

Etta, Audrey, Daphne and Inez are great names too.

Not keen on Hera, Gali or Selah (sound or look like hero, gall and cellar to me - I could imagine having to repeat and spell them to people when introducing her)

Bonnie is too twee for me and Tallulah is a bit “much”.

I’d pick Iris Joanie, Sadie Juno, or Nia Joanie.

Boys:

Soren, Enzo and Idris are my favourites.

Raphael and Solomon are good names just a bit “much” for me - but I do like Raffy / Rafe and Sol as nn’s, which take them up a notch!

Otto is ok - a bit trendy maybe?

Not keen on Axel or Asa. Asa would be nice I just worry about teasing because it’s visually a bit close to Ass.

Ambrose is a bit pretentious to me.

I’d pick Soren Tate, Enzo Dylan or Idris Dylan

Mumofgirls2017 · 05/03/2025 07:07

Lovely list. I love Etta, Sadie, Bonnie, Tallulah (could be tally/ Lulu/ Lula day to day?), Daphne. Joanie, Juno for middles.

love soren, Otto. Like axel but bad associations with Southport now. Like Ambrose but some will say associate with rice pudding 😂 like Tate and Dylan for middles.

Girl
Hera - like a lot as I say it to myself, but not certain on pronunciation - Hair-ruh?
Inez - ok, thought it was a boys name.
Gali - really lovely, assuming it's Gah-lee
Iris - nah, bit boring compared to your others
Sadie - I like a lot, but it gets suggested a lot on here at the moment, possibly going to be common soon?
Etta - gorgeous
Selah - not sure how to pronounce - Sell-arr? I don't like it
Audrey - ew no. Coronation Street.
Bonnie - This was top of my girls list for a while but everyone told me it was a dogs name, then a I met a dog called Bonnie while pregnant!
Nia - nice, bit boring compared to your other ideas
Daphne - ok
Tallulah - I know a friend of a friend who called their daughter this about 20 years ago, it was the name of their favourite stripper!!

Joanie - absolutely gorgeous, plus if it's sentimental definitely use it!
Juno - I really like this name but it gets a lot of stick on here.
Lily - way way way too common, every 3rd girl has this as a middle name along with Grace and May/Mai/Mae
Dotty - cute
Morgan - I think this is ugly, though it gets a lot of love on here.

Boys:
Soren - I thought this was a girls name, I might be thinking of Sorrel?
Raphael - more common than you'd think, I like Rafe.
Axel - I don't like this at all, sounds like a bully or really arrogant person to me.
Solomon - would fit your Hebrew/biblical theme of other children
Enzo - kinda cute
Otto - old German man (not that there is anything wrong with old German men)
Idris - old Welsh man (not that there is anything wrong with old Welsh men)
Asa - not sure how to pronounce, I would have thought it was a girls name.
Ambrose - old man, but cute, my favourite of your 'old man' names

Middle names:
Tate - Andrew Tate - no no no, absolutely not.
Angelo - cool
Dylan - Welsh or English pronunciation? both are nice. It's pretty common in Wales.
Aaron - meh.

Good luck, some lovely, interesting names in there!

If Juno is your fave name ever, why is it in the middle of the girl name list?

Of your list, - and I am a name connoisseur - I pick Audrey, Daphne, Juno.

You say "Raphael (nearly our seconds name)" - if you are european and your surname is, say, Raphaello, then definitely Raphael. I love names like this; Raphael Raphaello.

There was a boy at school called StJohn StJohn.
