I reckon it'll start with an I, the initials for all three would spell out PIG then!

That's genius!

So we could have

Issac Pig
Ian Pig
India Pig
Isabelle pig

My DD told me last night, she said it was all around school. She is 17, SEVENTEEN!

Edited to say DD is 17, not Mummy Pig obviously.

Edited

I'm 44 and I announced it to a pupil who's a fan today 😂😂

In my defence she's a teen with severe learning difficulties and so says snippets from the programme.

We have learned "mummy pig is having a baby" to add to it today 😂🤷‍♀️

Ignatius Pig has quite a ring to it.

Iggy Piggy for short.

How old are Peppa and George now? 25 and 22?

Got to be my 18 year old loved it aa a toddler and it had been going a good few years then.

CatkinToadflax · 01/03/2025 12:25

My boys’ middle names are Alexander and George. Alexander Pig is Peppa and George’s baby cousin. When they were little, they were absolutely convinced that their middle names were actually Alexander Pig and George Pig. I’ve still got them both in my phone with those names. They’re 19 and 16! 😄

Like Neil The Baby from Gavin & Stacey - when he's 90, his family will still be calling him Great Great Uncle Neil The Baby Grin

My DH had an uncle named Baby. He was in his sixties when I first met him, I could never bring myself to use his name to his face (he did have a real name but I don't know what it is).

Beachs · 02/03/2025 07:04

Twat Pig would be appropriate would be an appropriate name based on the other 2 rude winney fuckers.

I hate Peppa Pig if you can’t already tell! 😂

CatsWhiskerz · 02/03/2025 07:29

My DD16 absolutely LOVED Peppa pig lol - I have a wonderful memory of her at the theatre watching some peppa pig play thing, she tried to run to the stage, like a little fan girl lol, I had to rugby tackle her to the floor and hOLD her by her ankles til my DH rescued us, then she had to sit between us so she didn't make another run for it 🤣
Me and DD think it's twins!

TulipCat · 02/03/2025 07:36

I guess merchandise sales must be flagging so they need new characters.

Bluey and Dougie are killing it.

😂 I thought this was someone calling themself Mummy Pig and I came on to Have A Word.

I thought this too- but couldn't bring myself
to read it. I saw the news just now and did a search so I could come back without cynicism! 😆

HairOfFineStraw · 03/03/2025 18:54

I think Isabelle/ Isobel too but they will call her Izzy Piggy

TheLoyalUmberDreamer · 04/03/2025 00:53

That makes no sense.

NC28 · 27/02/2025 23:36

With all the whinging Peppa does, I’m surprised they wanted another to add to the brood. She’ll be insufferable. “Mummeyyy, I want to feed the baybee now!”

The name will be something quintessentially English-sounding. Like something you’d expect all the girls in Surrey to be named.

Alice is my guess. Henry if it’s a boy pig.

Will be resuscitating this thread in the summer if I’m right!

If you want a Surrey name, then Balonz is perfect. Balonza?

mum2jakie · 23/03/2025 20:38

I think they are going to leave George as the naming anomaly and go with:

Boy - Peter Pig
Girl - Peggy Pig or Penny Pig.

I have given this a lot of thought.

FaithPlayhouse · 01/04/2025 04:37

Hey Not sure about the name. Did they reveal the gender of the baby yet? I'm doing a Peppa Pig Toy Play Youtube series on my channel Faith's Play House. Go check out by the way. I want to do that episode of the arrival of the baby. I think it's going to be a girl but I don't know about the name. Might be another common simple one syllable name for toddlers to follow.

I didn't know they were still making new ones! My 3 year old DS has watched all the episodes on Netflix so many times I'm going slightly loopy.

Does anyone know where I can find this magical new content???

I never quite understand why they keep on making new episodes of programmes aimed at very young children.

Apart from the fact that little ones like familiarity and want to watch the same few episodes over and over again, if you keep on making lots of new episodes over a period of several years, the old ones will still be new to the new young children coming through of an appropriate age to enjoy them, as the older children who are familiar with them move on to programmes more suited to their age.

A bit like with bridal magazines, where they just rehash the same content again and again every year to 18 months, as people only stick with them for a relatively short period before they no longer need/want to buy/watch them anymore, and then new people come through!

You could say that about any tv show like the Simpsons. If they stopped making them years back they would seem terribly old fashioned and dated. Peppa pig started 20 years ago. Culture/language changes over the years and production technology improves.

SodYouIllGoOnMyOwn · 01/04/2025 10:10

I know what it is and it does begin with 'P'.

atthepinkponyclub · 01/04/2025 10:57

When will they announce, are they doing by human or pig gestational timeframe? 🤣

I definitely think girl as George already exists for the ‘boy’ merch. I just can’t decide if it will be a P or I name.

Theredjellybean · 01/04/2025 11:07

I'm waiting to see how Peppa reacts...does anyone have grown up dds ( or ds) that loved Angelina ballerina?
She was another annoying whingey brat...who got a little sister and it didn't go well ...

DalzielOrNoDalzielAndDontPascoe · 01/04/2025 14:02

Most people naming a pig would probably only have Porky and Hamlet and then be all out of ideas - so credit to Mummy & Daddy Pig for their creativity!
