Baby boy name beginning with M?

EzWin2 · 18/01/2025 17:06

Maddox James
Monroe James
Marlowe James

Brother to Ezra and Winter.

Looking for a baby boy name beginning with M. DH wants to share the same initials with this baby and I would like to find a name we both like. I personally think it’s a bit of a silly idea but I’m happy to go with it as I named both our other children. Maddox is currently his first choice, I’m leaning towards Monroe 💙. Suggestions are welcome but we like slightly unusual names. Thanks ☺️

Michael

I like Michael. But if that's too trad for you, how about Matteo or Matty.
Maurice?
Mortimer?
Max/Maximus
Merlin?
Milo is nice but there are lots of them. I don't like Miles for some reason.
Marius is nice too.

Hello OP,

I'm sorry but I only ever hear Mad Ox... Which sounds like a somewhat epic native american chief moniker but probably not something I'd stick on my kid.
Out of your names my fav is Marlowe.

If we're looking at other names then I love :

Magnus
Maximilian
Matthias
Markus

Maddox. Monroe and Marlow sound like girls names to me.

Also, it’s fine to be different but please consider your baby as an adult putting his name on a cv.

Yea different is maybe a conversation starter but some names may have a negative effect.

Marcus

AmateurNoun · 19/01/2025 01:10

I voted Maddox but actually Marlowe shortened to Marley would be quite sweet.

If it were me I'd probably go Michael, Marcus or some version of Max but I think you are looking for something more unusual:

  • Mitchell (Mitch)
  • Morgan
  • Murray
  • Marshall
  • Milo
  • Micah
  • Murphy
  • Mortimer (Morty)
  • Morten (Morty)
  • Marvin (Marv)
  • Maverick
chergar · 19/01/2025 01:15

They all sound a bit surnamey to me but on that theme you could have

Muir/moore
Marwood
Madden
McKinley (although maybe not with James)
Mallan
Maither
Marsden
Millar

Not my taste at all but I guess Munro (defo without the E).

Unusual M names I can think of:

  • Marco (fave!)
  • Magnus
  • Marlin
  • Micky (I'd have short for Michael)

This

Matthew

Murdo
Martin I really like Martin.
Maurice

Why is he keen on same initials, DH and I have same initial and it's a PITA. I opened his mail last week not paying enough attention to the Mr / Mrs bit.

MaloryJones · 19/01/2025 01:44

Maddox out of your list

Michael
Macauley
Mackenzie
Maidison

Some nice, imo, M names

Blueuggboots · 19/01/2025 01:44

Marco, NEVER Marko, that's dreadful.

Hazeltwig · 19/01/2025 01:49

Mungo

TheHeadOfTheHouse · 19/01/2025 09:28

I echo what another poster has said about their name being on a CV.

Employers do judge on names, address etc and a name says a lot about a person. It can signal their background etc which can be off putting to employers.

Maverick
Moby
Miles
Murray
Moses
Malachi
Methuselah
Maurice
Magnus
Morgan

Marko is not a dreadful name!
It's a nice name. Common in Finland.

SkaneTos · 19/01/2025 21:51

Mathias/Mattias is a great boy name on M.
