I'm torn. I like Philip George and Benjamin George. My last name is Casey. What do you all think?

Both are fabulous options. Real classic names with no stupid abbreviations.

HoundsOfHelfire · 22/12/2024 23:25

Benjamin is great and classic. Shortens well. Philip isn’t my cup of tea at all

SkaneTos · 22/12/2024 23:52

They are all good names, and good name combinations!

Scutterbug · 22/12/2024 23:54

Benjamin is lovely x

merrymelodies · 22/12/2024 23:55

Both are good, solid names!

wigsonthegreenandhatsforthelifting · 22/12/2024 23:59

I love Benjamin! Not so keen on Philip.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 23/12/2024 00:21

Both are classic choices but unfortunately Phillip is seen as a bit dated now. Going for Phillip means he’s pretty much guaranteed to be the only one in his class (maybe even the school, apart from possibly a teacher), but Benjamin is more timeless - Phil is likely 50 plus but Ben could be almost any age. Though I must admit I do think Pip is super cute on a toddler 🤣. So while Benjamin is not exactly my personal taste (I prefer Benedict of the “Ben” names), imo it’s probably the safe option.

George is not my own cup of tea (like Benjamin I’m just not as keen on the sound) -but it is one of the ultimate timeless “can’t go wrong” names, and is slightly more interesting than the usual but similar James for a middle.

What about George Benjamin Casey ?

I don't like Philip, prefer Benedict to Benjamin

Moreteaandchocolate · 23/12/2024 00:43

Benjamin George sounds perfect to me!

user1492757084 · 23/12/2024 01:05

I like BC as initials.
So, Benjamin George Casey.

SnowFrogJelly · 23/12/2024 01:11

Philip is a bit dated
Benjamin great

Dustyblue · 23/12/2024 03:29

I was about to suggest Benedict before @IamnotwhouthinkIam got there first!
It's a classic & commanding name, unusual without being peculiar.

Benjamin & George are nice too, although George is perhaps a bit overused.

mathanxiety · 23/12/2024 03:43

Benjamin is my favourite.

Thunderpants88 · 23/12/2024 03:45

Benjamin

MayaPinion · 23/12/2024 03:48

There are a lot of Bens about these days. I think Philip is a great, classic, ‘posh’ name.

oopsupsideyourheadisayoopsupsideypurhead · 23/12/2024 03:52

Personally I wouldn't use Benjamin as I think B Casey sounds a bit strange

danascully96 · 23/12/2024 06:23

I prefer the shortened Ben to Phil, but both names in full are lovely!

BloodyGhosts · 23/12/2024 06:34

Benjamin is lovely.

Philip is an odd one imo, because of the vastly different vibes of the full name vs the nickname.

Philip is a bit wimpy and inspid to my ears. Impossible to say without impersonating the queen.

Phil, on the other hand, is a bit of a geezer, loves a pint or ten, into motorbikes.

shoopshoopdedoo · 23/12/2024 13:11

Really like both. I’d go for Benjamin as Phil Casey sounds a bit like “fill cases”.

Emanwenym · 23/12/2024 13:47

I like Philip best but all 3 are fine. They'll be Phil and Ben though.

BobbyBiscuits · 23/12/2024 13:50

I like George and Benjamin is OK. Not mad on Philip at all. Is it a family name? If not it does sound a bit old fashioned and 'boring'.
Luke, Daniel, Alexander are nice traditional boys names. Maybe not on your radar though.

Fireworknight · 23/12/2024 13:55

Both great names, but I would err towards Benjamin as well.

BootballJoy · 23/12/2024 14:13

If Pip is the shortening then I prefer Philip, but both are good.

BoleynMemories13 · 23/12/2024 18:23

Definitely Benjamin!

Philip is woefully dated and not my taste at all. Benjamin suits all ages and Ben is a nice, down to Earth shortening.

Sunnnybunny72 · 23/12/2024 18:38

Benjamin.
