Persil? Fairy?

12purplepencils · 18/12/2024 16:50

Well it’s not for me.
Leonore or Leonora maybe but Lenore just sounds like you got it a bit wrong and got confused with the fabric softener brand (I appreciate that isn’t the case but it gives that impression!)

TribulationPeriwinkle · 18/12/2024 16:54

Nevermore!

mathanxiety · 18/12/2024 17:43

I don't think Lenore Norris works, OP.

Apart altogether from the fabric softener...

mathanxiety · 18/12/2024 17:44

I would just put Leni on the BC. It's a lovely name.

BibbityBobbityToo · 18/12/2024 17:46

I would rather pick Eleanor than the fabric conditioner.

Nevermore!

That's what I thought too. I really like it!

BibbityBobbityToo · 18/12/2024 17:47

Or Leonie

Topseyt123 · 18/12/2024 17:52

Leonora would be OK, but Lenore is much too akin to the fabric softener brand name.

CookieMonster28 · 18/12/2024 17:52

Lenorie
Leonora
Leonore

Are better sounding...agree with the fabric softener comments with Lenore

AlbertCamusflage · 18/12/2024 17:54

How about Ariel as a first name and then Lenore as a middle name - you have to put the detergent in before the fabric softener.

Sofabookhotchoc · 18/12/2024 17:57

Or Lainey?

SkaneTos · 18/12/2024 18:46

Yes, like @EvelynBeatrice mentioned, the oldest daughter of the Spanish king Felipe is called Leonor. Leonor, Princess of Asturias.

There is also Countess Leonore of Orange-Nassau, daughter of Prince Constantijn of the Netherlands, and Princess Leonore of Sweden, daughter of the Swedish princess Madeleine.

I think Leonore/Leonor is a beautiful name!

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 18/12/2024 21:56

I don’t see what sounds wrong with Lenore Norris? Is it the repeated letters? I think that just makes the name sound more memorable and lyrical. But I suppose if you want to break up the sounds a bit more, then better known Lenora/Leonora could be an option too.

Lenore makes me think of the cool/gothic Edgar Allan Poe poem before the fabric softener- but even if it makes people think of that, it’s not particularly dodgy or a big deal is it? (a bit like Clementine’s also a fruit, India a country, Scarlet a colour etc etc etc)

While I do prefer classic Eleanor, I think Lenore is quite pretty too - so if you love it, I say go for it.

Daisybuttercup12345 · 18/12/2024 22:15

Fabric softener. Leoni?

Justleaveitblankthen · 18/12/2024 22:19

1: Fabric softener
2: The Wife in Taken

user1492757084 · 19/12/2024 01:36

Lenore Norris is lovely.
Would any of these suit you better:

Leonor Norris
Elena Norris - EH,Leh,nuh .. Leni
Alanna Norris - eh-LAN-uh .. nick name Lanni

Lenni sounds very much like Lemmie (from Motorhead!) Or a diminuation of Leonard

USAUSAUSA · 19/12/2024 05:56

I don’t mind the name at all but I can’t see it without hearing “hey Lenora” from those “working with gen z reels” that clog up my social media. Lenora is particularly whiny and ridiculous . I clearly spend too much time scrolling 😁

mumbruh · 19/12/2024 06:59

Not quite the same but I went to school with a girl called Lorelle and she was always being called L'Oréal...

What about Eleanor or Eleni

I tend to agree mostly. I do prefer Lenore over Eleanor, and I think, although Lenore Norris does sound lyrical, it can also be too sing-songy and rhyme-y.
