I love all the obscure welsh names in the baby books but as we're not welsh i don't want to give my child a name that they will spend the rest of their life spelling out. Also has to go with a rather english surname.

We're mainly stuck for boys' names, and can't use Dylan which i love.

Any ideas?

Thanks that is a good site! Still being drawn to the slightly mad ones unfortunately but i'm sure i will get over that... I like ellis but it would make our baby sound a bit like a jazz legend!

Just hoping for a girl so that i don't have to deal with the name problem at all!

Morgan. Rhys. Glyn.

spicemonster · 01/05/2008 09:21

My DS's middle name is Rhys. Or there's Morgan or Bryn. Easy to spell I think

doodleboo · 01/05/2008 09:21

Can't have gareth (gareth gates...) or owen (boy from school), huw is good but will probably be spelt hugh on everything (they spelt DS's (my) surname wrong on his baby tag from the hospital!

rowAN

doodleboo · 01/05/2008 09:23

I really like Bryn, but it would have been my little sister's name had she been a boy and my dad still laughs about how hilarious it would have been to this day

Tomos hasn't been mentioned yet.

'Glyn' does tend to morph into 'Glen' when in the hands of the English, I've noticed.
