Botanical/nature/social justice girls names

Struggling to find a girl’s name I love !

Id love for it to be botanical, nature or ‘social justice ‘ - to me that’s a strong ‘virtue’ name that’s more to do with world goodness rather than anything religious!

i love names with meaning (so while I love Phaedra and Persephone I don’t think I could use them because of the stories behind them)

Lyrical and strong - and that elusive spot of being unusual without being too out there!

Rosalind

Or Rosaline ? I like them both and have them on my list . Although apparently I’m pushing an agenda because I like Orlando for a boy 😂

I knew a Genesis and thought it was gorgeous. I know the religious aspect could be off putting. But I just think of new beginnings.

Some of the outdoorsy girl names I heard while in California, if it helps:

Sierra
Denali
Olympia
Aspen
Acadia
Marina
Cambria
Shasta

I also heard Rainier for a boy, which I thought was neat. I liked that so many of them were names of places/national parks or mountains.

Oh I love Adaira- I had Adair for one of my boy names (don’t know what I’m having) and hadn’t realised there was a female varient.

I really like Ostara as well (until I learned there were possible neo Nazi connections)

Yeah that's what you get when looking up names on an american baby name site.
All names that were listed under the botanical/nature/ list.

Cove, for example, has been in the rise in the us for a decade; seriously.
Here are it's nick names; seriously.

  • Covey.
  • Cove.
  • Coco.
  • Vey.
  • Covy.
Have you not heard of the name Twyla, short for Twilight? It's a name, believe me. "The name Twyla is the abbreviation of “twilight,” which stems from the Old English elements twī- and lēoht." Many famous people named Twyla and is also on the rise, but less so than Cove!

I love Willow, Laurel and Rowan. Margureite/ Margarita are the French and Spanish equivalent of Daisy.
