Both are good names!

MutleyCrew · 24/09/2024 22:33

Both great, I would plump for Lottie

Bigearringsbigsmile · 24/09/2024 22:34

Clara
Unless you use Charlotte and have lottie as a diminutive

TemuSpecialBuy · 24/09/2024 22:36

I’d go for Clara unless you are going for Charlotte nn. lottie

lottie for a 6 yr old - gorgeous
lottie for a CEO - our survey says ❌

StressedQueen · 24/09/2024 22:36

Clara, I nearly named one of my twins this so I love it, but Lottie is sweet too

shoopshoopdedoo · 24/09/2024 22:40

Like both, but agree with others that I’d only use Lottie as a nickname for Charlotte.

Moreteaandchocolate · 24/09/2024 22:42

Love Clara - a gorgeous name that has a lovely vintage chic vibe to me and works well for all ages.

Lottie is so lovely for a child but I prefer as a nn for Charlotte.

AutumnColours9 · 24/09/2024 22:42

Clara

GreenCereal · 24/09/2024 22:50

By the time Lottie gets to CEO level, her contemporaries will be extremely used to diminutives as names - she'll be surrounded by Alfies, Teddys, Evies etc. I would not let it put you off.

timoteigirl · 24/09/2024 22:53

Lottie sounds quite childish, maybe won't age well. So must be Clara. Or Carlotta.

ClydeBank · 24/09/2024 22:56

Both lovely. U will just have to have an extra child 😄

Jelly4444 · 24/09/2024 23:01

Definitely Clara or Charlotte. Lottie is lovely but not for an adult as others have said above.

BananaGrapeMelon · 24/09/2024 23:01

Clara, love it.

TheNameIsDickDarlington · 24/09/2024 23:05

Clara

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 24/09/2024 23:55

Clara as I personally find diminutives like Lottie a bit sparse or childish sounding as a given name. Charlotte is fine though.

MovingonupScotland · 25/09/2024 06:15

Both lovely. I worked with an adult Lottie and it suited her well but I get other people's concerns.

My preference is Clara but it really depends on your family name. If you have a surname with lots of 'ar' sounds (e.g. Parker, Sharples, Grant) I don't think Clara would work. Can't just take first name alone to make the choice.

Clara is lovely.

Or charlotte

Sunnnybunny72 · 25/09/2024 08:04

Yes Lottie is 'sweet' so I would avoid for that reason.
Clara. Prefer Cara though.

Agree

unknownscot · 25/09/2024 12:20

Sorry should've said it would be Charlotte on BC but always known as Lottie.

Our boy name is Ben but unsure if it would be Benjamin or something else

discoballdave · 25/09/2024 12:22

Clara.

Moreteaandchocolate · 25/09/2024 12:24

I originally said I preferred Clara, but I actually love Charlotte nn Lottie with Benjamin nn Ben - a perfect pairing imo!

MotherOfCatBoy · 25/09/2024 12:24

Love Clara.
Also Anna-Clara.

Also love Lottie. Agree with others about Charlotte but as an adult name you can also got for Lotte (more Continental) or Liselotte.

Skybluepinky · 25/09/2024 12:26

Both are lovely names, don’t overthink the business thing as the ones that chose business names for their kids are still looking for proper jobs despite being in their 30’s.
