Baby girl Ava, Isabel, or Vivienne?

We’re getting awfully close to our baby’s due date and I’m still batting around names - help!

Here are the names that have stuck from our original list. Does anyone have a favorite with our last name? Any advice or associations for this group? Many many thanks!

Ava Campbell (nn: Ave/ Avie)
Isabel Campbell (nn: Izzie)
Vivienne Campbell (nn: Vivi)

Note: I’ve been calling her Ava for a while but worry it’s too popular / trendy and she’ll be one of many in her school or class. We live in the midwest US where Ava is ranked #8. My heart is saying Ava Elizabeth (family name) or Ava Josephine but my head is interfering…

Isabel Ava or Isabel Vivienne would be nice.

Other suggestions:
Isabel Avery
Isabel Ivy
Isabel Valentine
Isabel Evalina
Isabel Viviana
Isabel Evadne

Ava fits your surname perfectly, and is very beautiful. Who cares if it is popular ☺️

Velvetbee · 31/08/2024 20:03

Vivienne.

I love Vivienne! You don't see it very often, but it sounds so classy and stylish. Vivi is a really cute nn, too.

Agree!! The best by far out of those xx

BoleynMemories13 · 31/08/2024 21:00

I love Ava and popularity wouldn't bother me in the slightest, but 'Ave' is awful and Avie not much better. Just call her Ava!

Vivienne isn't my style at all and, again, Vivi is awful.

So that leaves Isabel. Izzy is a much nicer shortening, out of the 3.

My vote goes to Ava if you don't shorten it, Isabel/Izzy if you do insist on shortening.

Ava Josephine ❤️

Vi-vi-EN

It’s popular enough now that people mostly know that, or will soon.

Righty ho. Guess Annabelle is Anna Belle then. Smile
Vivienne Westwood was Vivi-en not Vivi-EN. I only know one Vivienne and she stresses the Viv too. (I know 2 male Vivians, and 2 Viviens, all Viv).

cf. Eleanor vs EleanOR.

Vivienne! Also.. the initials VC make for a great excuse to buy some Veuve Clicquot champagne. Win win!

I'm in the US midwest, and honestly, you couldn't throw a brick in a school playground without hitting an Ava or a Vivienne.

Isabel would be far less common than Isabella, and imo is a nicer name. I'd easily pick Isabel over Ava or Vivienne.

This is the UK though. You cannot throw a brick without hitting an Ava or an Isabel/Izzy/Isabella, they all blend into one.

Vivienne is much more uncommon here.

Derrymum123 · 31/08/2024 21:22

Team Vivienne here.

Yokaiwatch · 31/08/2024 21:27

Isabel would be my pick. I think of the Vivienne which isn’t a good association (drag queen). Isabel goes best with Campbell in my opinion too. Ava is ok

ZiggyZowie · 31/08/2024 21:28

Vivienne

Pipsqueek20 · 31/08/2024 21:33

I love the name Vivienne. I have a 3 year old little girl so spend a lot of time at playgrounds, nursery etc and haven’t come across a Vivienne. I’m UK based.

Maybe you could wait until she’s born and decide then. When you see her little face, you’ll know.
Good luck ❤️ xx

Catlord · 31/08/2024 21:35

Well, they're all pretty much of their time. Not a bad thing. I'd say unless you don't care at all about popularity, Ava is rather everywhere.

I like Isobel out of those three by far, but with that spelling (not sure why but the small tweak balances it out a lot to me visually!).

Vivienne great, but not to my taste. I'd prefer Veronique if going for long, French and 'V' tastic.

SpikeGilesSandwich · 31/08/2024 22:41

I'd go with Vivi out out those, I know so many little Ava's and Izzys but no Vivis so far, it's refreshing!

Pocketfullofdogtreats · 31/08/2024 22:48

Vivienne, or Vivien. Isobel second. Not keen on Ava but if you love it, that's what's important - it's not awful.

Avery - I don't understand that at all for a girl's name. It sounds like a double glazing company.

BobbyBiscuits · 31/08/2024 22:51

I like Ivy or Ida. Isobel is nice as well.
Beatrix, Leonie, Araminta, Vida, Nova, Lark, Azelie, aurora?

Daisybuttercup12345 · 31/08/2024 22:57

Ava Elizabeth is lovely.

The OP is in the US

orangetree1999 · 31/08/2024 23:24

Vivienne is beautiful

ladygindiva · 01/09/2024 08:46

I live in UK, have an Isabel. Only one in her year group ( of 60 kids) and there are no Ava's. It's the Millie's and Anna's that are absolutely everywhere which imo are dreadfully bland names but Anna is inexplicably loved by Mumsnet. Isabel is beautiful and not as everywhere as mn would have you believe. Ava ditto.
