cecilia

CantSleepWontSleep · 18/04/2008 09:51

Glad you said it Naily. I would be more worried about that than the letters titi appearing in the middle of the name too.

Love Felicity too - tis on our possibles list if this one is a girl.

duchesse · 20/04/2008 19:24

Tis my third born's, and she is the archetypal Sunday child. Not a fat hairy lady at all.

lljkk · 20/04/2008 19:29

Serafina sounds prettiest, looks like name of a prescription drug, tho.

duchesse · 20/04/2008 19:36

that one is my niece's name...

dizzydixies · 20/04/2008 19:39

cecelia is fantastic, wishing hadn't used it as dd2's mn so we could use it for this one if pink

love nickname Cece too!

prefer felicity to felicia

not a fan of leticia sorry

hannah, alright but doesn't shine like cecelia imo

serephina is ok but imo trying a little to hard?

cutekids · 20/04/2008 19:41

Hannah's the nicest.Although every other girl in dd2's class is called it!

girlfrommars · 20/04/2008 19:49

Felicia, Cecilia, Hannah, and Seraphina all really lovely.

Letizia I'm not sure of.

Rolf · 21/04/2008 10:12

I'm looking for girls' names too - DH doesn't like anything I suggest and has no counter-suggestions of his own!

cecilia - lovely. Love Cecily and Celia as well.

hannah - lovely but rather overused atm, I think.

letizia - don't like it. Lettice is nice although rather poncey.

seraphina - lovely.

felicia - lovely and terrific meaning. Also like Felicity.

seeker · 21/04/2008 10:17

Cecelia is nice - but prefer Cecily.

Hannah is nice - but if you're bothered, there are a lot of them.

If you're bothered about the titi, then I wouldn't go for Lettice - much more teaseable I would think!

Felicity's lovely.

Seraphina would be pretty hard to live up to when your're a spotty lumpen adolescent!

MadameCh0let · 21/04/2008 10:38

cecilia - I like but I prefer Cecily, which I love.

hannah - ok but dull. Anna is prettier, the Hs just spoil the Anna imo, Annabel is a bit more interesting again.

letizia - no. nmsaa, bless your heart.

seraphina a/a

felicia - no. Some people like Felicity and that's their taste, but Felicia is nmsaa, bless your heart ma'am. I am trying to be polite now.

MadameCh0let · 21/04/2008 10:41

Hatrick, are you Vanessa Feltz??? Her dds are Allegra and Saskia. Both gorgeous names imo.

I also love Claudia and Thea.

OP you should let Hatrick name your child.

mimimimi · 21/04/2008 20:11

thanks very much, everyone!
i should maybe add that i want the name to work in italian and german, too -so quite a difficult task!
that's also the reason for the preferred spelling letizia (italian/spanish.
was interested to read that a lot of you think of seraphina as rather poncey - would that apply to all the names or are some of them better than others in that respect (hannah, obviously?!)

OP posts:
piratecat · 21/04/2008 20:14

what about Saffron,
I think Seraphina is too much for my taste.

The fact that you put Hannah in suggests that you have a wide variety of names that you like, thats why I suggested Saffron.

MadameCh0let · 22/04/2008 22:43

Seraphina is not just a little poncey it's too ecclesiastical to boot!

Hannah is a little dull imo, although I do like Anna

Saffron is nice. I like Amber, but I think that saffron and Amber are a little 80s sounding. I could be wrong about that.

JessJess3908 · 22/04/2008 22:50

Seraphina is wonderful! It's unusual but because of the angel seraphins connections it sounds familiar & divine.

Cecilia has always reminded me of celeac (sp) disease ;-)

CountessDracula · 22/04/2008 22:59

Serafina is nicer than Seraphina IMO
not sure why

She is the dd of Charlie Watts (schoolfriend of SIL's)

Don't much care for the rest
Cecilia is ok but I can only hear simon and garfunkel's whingey song! Cecily prettier.. or cecile

Hulababy · 22/04/2008 23:10

Of the list in OP I prefer Hannah of all of them.

WendyWeber · 22/04/2008 23:12

Celia nicer than Cecilia
Hannah OK
Letizia = Spanish (wife of Crown Prince?) - English equiv is Lettice (noooo)

Seraphina -

Felicia - is a Skoda

jellybeans · 24/04/2008 13:29

hannah and seraphina are OK. Not keen on the others.
