Hello so I've found out my 3rd baby is a little boy and I'm stuck on the name 😂 I have a 10 year old son Logan Lee and a 3 year old daughter Elora-Rose. Names I love but I'm stuck for middle names, I was debating using David after my brother but not sure it goes.... First names I'm debating between thank you.

Axel
Maddox
Ellis

I would avoid Ellis purely for practical reasons that when they are older and receive post in their own name e.g. birthday, official stuff such as doctors etc there is no uncertainty around who the post addressed to E Skyeelora could be for Ellis or Elora-Rose.

MagicianMoth · 21/08/2024 11:25

I actually like Ellis best out of all of those even with the shared initial. And I think David goes with all those names.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 21/08/2024 11:26

I like Axel the best. However with it being so unusual and in the light of the Southport killings it might make peoples minds automatically go to Axel Rudakabana. I hope I’ve not upset you saying that. Could Alex be an alternative. If not out of Maddox and Ellis I’d say Ellis.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 21/08/2024 11:28

Ah I’ve just seen you’ve got an Elora which potentially gives them both the nick name of Ell. That just leaves Maddox then.

Mumofgirls2017 · 21/08/2024 12:07

I like Axel

user1492757084 · 21/08/2024 12:08

I like Axel David and Maddox David.

You could also use ..
David Alexander
or Alex David

BoleynMemories13 · 21/08/2024 13:01

Ellis is very close to Elora but it's my favourite on your list. It also goes the best with David.

Maddox is a bit too trendy for me. Axel I've never been a fan of. It's also very trendy and I have to agree with the above I'm afraid that I think it will forever be tainted now by what happened in Southport.

Alex David would be perfect though. Logan, Elora and Alex.

shoopshoopdedoo · 21/08/2024 13:57

I like David best. From your other three I prefer Ellis but I think it might be too close to Elora, so I’d pick Maddox second. I love Alex but not so keen on Axel.

sel2223 · 21/08/2024 14:20

Normally I'd choose Ellis from your list but not with Elora. I'm not keen on same initials or similar sounds for siblings.

I do like Axel David

crostini · 21/08/2024 14:23

Ellis definitely

Newbornhaze · 21/08/2024 14:25

I love Ellis the best by far - I think it goes well with Elora whilst being distinct

timoteigirl · 21/08/2024 15:09

Ellis too similar to Ellora. Which leaves Axel and Maddox but they seem quite hard sounding names in comparison.

As both kids have LO in their name I thought of another name that has that sound in the middle or in the end:
Alois
Arlo
Arlon
Braylon
Calox
Milo
Merlo
Marlowe
Marlon
Marlondo

Names like Logan:
Grayson
Morgan

Others: Frank/ ie
Silas

I really like David. It's got a long and distinguished history. It's out of fashion at the moment -unlike your suggested names - so therefore a little David would be much less likely to be one of 'three in a class'. Also, if it matters, if your son wants an international name, in local versions it works well in a great many places in the world.

Depends where you are. David is one of the most popular names at my school (along with Richard, for similar reasons). As you say, it has international appeal and we're in a very multicultural area. It's very popular among children with Eastern European or African heritage right now. We don't have a single Ellis, Axel or Logan, but I have had 2 Davids in a class before and know of at least 6 more!

That's besides the point though as I'm pretty sure OP is only considering it as a middle name. They say it's their brother's name so I'm pretty sure they're not wanting to use it as a first name.

PeachRose1986 · 21/08/2024 18:52

Axel for sure.

pambeesleyhalpert · 21/08/2024 18:54

Elora is such a pretty name! Love that! axel was on my list for a while but I prefer Maddox!

BettyBardMacDonald · 21/08/2024 19:20

Axel

PolaroidPrincess · 21/08/2024 19:27

Having had the sane initial as my DF, I'd avoid Ellis if it was me choosing, although I do live the name.

Maddox David and Axel David are both good combinations Wink

theduchessofspork · 21/08/2024 21:28

I only like Ellis - Ellis David is nice

I don't mind the name David but my nephew which is my brother's son is called David, hence the middle name option as my brother passed away unexpectedly last year. It definitely becomes harder and harder to name our children as the years go on!

Sorry to hear about your brother's sudden, unexpected passing. Using his name as a middle name is a lovely, fitting tribute.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 21/08/2024 22:26

Axel David sounds nice imo. Axel used to be a bit too Rock star or quite German/Scandi sounding but I’m hearing it more often now in the UK.

Maddox is very celeb still, so I wouldn’t use it personally and I think Ellis is a too close to Elora (as you never know if her friends will call her Ellie when older).

Rory17384949 · 21/08/2024 22:33

I like Ellis best but if you want to avoid the same initials as your DD then maybe not.
Axel David is nice
