I have fallen in love with it as it is different (I don't know any Cassie's at all) but pretty.

What do you think?

Love it as its my dds name, short for Cassidy.

berolina · 12/04/2008 21:51

I'll go against the grain and admit I don't like it, sorry. But 'tis up to you, of course

annemarie29 · 12/04/2008 21:52

ceebee, we thought about using the long version on dds birth certificate but we really didn't like cassandra. everyone who's heard her name so far has said it's very pretty.

Alishanty · 13/04/2008 09:43

I went to school with a Cassie, I always quite liked the name when I was at school.

CristinaTheAstonishing · 13/04/2008 09:54

One of the posters on here is a Cassie. And v nice too IRL. Nice name.

Twinkie1 · 13/04/2008 10:02

It was my friends horses name so I always associate it with hoses!

scorpio1 · 13/04/2008 10:03

i know a Cassia bit nicer than Cassie IMO

Twinkie1 · 13/04/2008 10:03

And I can't think of Cassandra without thinking of Rodney's wet wife in Only Fools & Horses!

Tha was her name wasn't it?

CristinaTheAstonishing · 13/04/2008 10:04

Kasia is Polish, isn't it? I don't know if it's short for sthg in Polish.

StealthPolarBear · 13/04/2008 10:13

Unusual - I like it!

MrsSchadenfreude · 13/04/2008 16:22

Kasia (pronounced "Kasha") is short for Katarzyna (Catherine) in Polish. Wanted that for DD1 but DH vetoed. He also vetoed Ruxandra and Luminita.

CristinaTheAstonishing · 13/04/2008 16:28

My DH vetoed Ruxandra and Raluca. Luminita is my sister's name. Are you Romanian, MrsSch?

rolledhedgehog · 14/04/2008 15:57

Cassie is my sister's name. Well Cassandra but no one calls her that.

She was always the only one at school and aged 37 as she is now it is still unusual.

I think she got the better name by far!! Mine became very common (in its worst sense!).

Slouchy · 14/04/2008 16:55

OOh, I'm the mner moomin mentioned with the dd called Cassie. her barrister name is Catherine so she has lots of options. We started with Cassie, but like some posters have said cassandra was just too Fools and Horses (Cassarndrer!) for us, so went with Catherine instead.

Still love it.

MrsMattie · 15/04/2008 11:22

Cassie is sweet but unfortunately when I hear the name Cassandra I think of the way Rodney Trotter says it...

thelittlestbadger · 15/04/2008 11:26

My Dsis is cassie but short for Caroline - she chose it herself when she was about 4 and it is still lovely now she is 26. She tends now to be Cass at home but is Carolita at work (teaches English in South America) so certainly doesn't have to be short for Cassandra!

solo · 15/04/2008 11:37

Nay, I don't like it. Knew a smelly Cassie as a kid, probably why...
