VAmum · 12/07/2024 15:52

Hi everyone!

I'm expecting my 3rd baby this September. A baby girl! I want to give "Amber" as her middle name and I'm looking for a first name that would suit best. Any suggestions please?

Thank you in advance!!!

What kind of names do you like, do you have a list so far to base suggestions on?

Amber Rose is in the wrong order. 🚥

It sounds better that way!

EoinMahoney · 12/07/2024 18:41

@Malahide, I gave you the dictionary pronunciation.

@Bignanna , but they are two colours (and two nouns). OP wanted Amber as the middle name.

PuppyMonkey · 12/07/2024 18:42

I’ve got a Madeleine Amber…

Eh? Amber does end in 'uh'.

No, it ends in ‘er’

Doesn't matter if they’re colours and nouns. It sounds nice and OP might change her mind about Amber being the middle name.

EoinMahoney · 12/07/2024 19:09

It doesn't matter to you but I think it's a bit naff, also OP did say I want to give "Amber" as her middle name , or does that not matter either?

Again Amber is lovely. Why hide it in the middle!

No, you’ve given me the southern English pronunciation. A large proportion of MN but a very small minority in the rest of the world who use ‘er’.

@Malahide , I don't really care. It's a pretty name whether you sound the r or not.
I'd avoid something like Ella Amber because I find the EllerAmber pronunciation ugly.

What's the first letter of your surname? Having an A-name in the middle could easily spell out a word, and while something like LAB or NAH would be fine, you don't want to name your child GAY or FAT

Really need more info. Other siblings names? Surname starting letter? Style?

Anything you like. Middle names are fairly irrelevant really.

liveforsummer · 13/07/2024 07:11

All the names suggested sound better with Amber as the first name. Agree with a pp though that it doesn't have to 'go' as you'll rarely use it.

pinkyredrose · 13/07/2024 07:32

Amber Lynn

Why not use Amber as the first name?
It's a lovely name.

Agreed! It's beautiful.
If not I like Catherine Amber.

Not to me it isn't! "Vivia namber." Runs into each other. Vivienne is an awful name too.
