Looking for name inspiration for similar names to Felix, Willoughby, Monty (Montague), Ambrose. Partner likes Ambrose but it reminds me of Ambrosier custard.

Or however it’s spelled

I offer up:

'St John' pronounced Sinjun 👌🏻

But please give your child a less pretentious name...unless of course you actually ARE royalty, in which case fill your glass slippers to the brim!

Monty and Felix aren’t pretentious ( though Montague is a bit).

Willoughyby is just wrong after the Austen character being such a tit. Ambrose I don’t think fits with the others and sounds like nectar of the Gods which is a bit 🤨

Cedric
Roland
Magnus
Julian
Lucian/Lucius
Remy

Magnus and Maximus always make me 🙄 Daddy would buy a magnum for their 21st and all would chuckle at the near word-play. And it is comical if they end up tall and worse if they are tiny.

Remy sounds like a bow-legged old French man with a beret and trousers falling down to reveal Gallic butt crack at the back.

Roland and Cedric live with their mum aged 39 and she irons a crease down the front of their jeans ( though it doesn’t really matter because they prefer grey M and S trousers).

OR Roland has blonde shoulder length hair and listens to podcasts while he does his facial cleansing routine each night but it’s all worth it cos he really looks like the chivalric type to step straight out of Song of Roland ( hair flick) . Dreams of arriving places on a white charger.

Sorry. Not sure why I’m being so rude …

I agree StJohn is due a revival!

This thread is hilarious but for some reason Aloysius has tipped me over the edge 😭😂 I'm actually crying thinking about the reactions my very Northern friends and family would have if I had another baby and introduced him as little Aloysius 😂

Did you know it’s pronounced Allooo-ish-us ( which makes it even funnier!) 🤣

That’s not rude. It’s very accurate. And very colourful. And very funny,

Remy is my favourite comical name of these. I can picture a boy with that name on twenty Gauloises a day and doing a lot of shrugging.

Have you seen the new Inside Out movie? There’s a character you would love …

Ah, sounds like a beret-wearing shrugger from the top drawer! I look forward to it.
