Asa

very big gap

Caspar
Jem
Felix
Miles
Rafe
Joss
Tor
Ivo
Corin

but I think Corin is a girls name, Tor is a hill on Dartmoor, Ivo is a short form for an agricultural wormer, Jem is a nn for James, and Joss sounds like Josh only more Valley. Sorry OP

yotoandyoyos · 20/06/2024 21:07

Ivo
Tor
Joss
Felix
Rafe
Asa

Jem

1- Felix. Love this perfect balance between known but not overused
2- Caspar but prefer the Casper spelling
3- Miles love this one too
4- Rafe prefer it as a nickname for Raphael
5- Joss not my cup of tea but nothing bad about it
6- Ivo quite cool
7- Tor seems a bit abrupt
8- Corin
9- Asa
10- Jem
not really a fan of the last three personally but think it’s just my name taste!

StringTheory1 · 20/06/2024 21:53

Joss
Torr
Corin

Moreteaandchocolate · 20/06/2024 21:59
  1. Miles
  2. Ivo
  3. Felix
  4. Rafe
  5. Caspar
  6. Asa
  7. Tor
  8. Jem (love as short for James / Jeremy)

Corin and Joss sound too feminine to me.

Miles.

I can't even rank the others, they're all terrible IMO. Sorry.

I only like Miles too, sorry.

RogueFemale · 21/06/2024 00:06

Don't like any of them.

Brukli · 21/06/2024 00:58

I like Miles.

Rafe and Asa are OK.

Dispike the others. All a bit wet and pretentious.

Pinkl · 21/06/2024 01:11

Im thinking Rafe is pronounced Ray-ph rather than Ra-fee?

Asa
Rafe
Caspar
Felix

blackoverbillsmothers · 21/06/2024 01:26

Miles is the only one I’d consider.

MinervaMcGonagallsCat · 21/06/2024 01:27

Asa is pronounced AY-sa

Thank you for the opinions.

@AnCùDubh what do you mean “spelled properly “? I know Ralph Fiennes spells it differently but only ever seen it as Rafe in “real life”.

Ralph is pronounced Rafe. Rafe is a modern phonetic spelling.

NightPuffins · 21/06/2024 01:50

Corin - my favourite boys name!
Caspar - love it.
Tor - if you are pronouncing it as 'Thor'?
Asa - I love this name but know someone who used it with a wrong pronunciation and it really bothers me.

Miles - it's nice but there are so many of them now, it puts me off.
Jem - I like Jeremy but I only know Jem as a girls name on its own.
Ivo - my brain wants to write Ivor.
Felix - I associate it with cats.
Rafe - I can only see "rape" when I read this, sorry to any Rafes out there.
Joss - I'm not a fan. Joshua is nice.

AutumnColours9 · 21/06/2024 01:56

Casper
Miles

LostInTheColonies · 21/06/2024 04:14

Tor - as in rocks, or as per Norwegian name? I also like Tarn
Corin - great name; underused
Ivo - also keen on Iolo

Joss
Felix
Rafe

Caspar - the friendly ghost
Jem - cake
Miles - pompous
Asa - sounds like an insurance company

GrannyRose15 · 21/06/2024 07:50

Sorry but I don’t like any of them. Can we have another list please.

Oldermum84 · 21/06/2024 08:00

2nd Asa - gorgeous and underused (probably as people worry about “asser“ )One of the few palindrome names for boys too
6th Caspar - nice sound but could have spelling issues, so prefer similar Caspian
3rd Jem - adore, but only as a nickname for classic James. Feels a bit insubstantial alone.
7th Felix - Meh, don’t love, don’t hate
4th Ivo- the nicest of the trendy “o” ending names, has an quirky earthy vibe
8th Rafe - much nicer than Ralph but still has a harsh sound to me
1st Corin- Stunning and classy Shakespearean. underused, probably due to girls Corinne.
10th Miles - still stereotypical posh boy to me, plus rhymes with Piles (childish)
9th Joss - not my cup of tea, I’d prefer as a nn for Jocelyn on a girl
5th Tor - interesting, I feel like I’ve only heard similar Torin but seems kinda cool.

Twoshoesnewshoes · 21/06/2024 23:25
