Please can you tell me what short / affectionate forms are used for Anastasia?
For a child with the name, not a new baby.

In Greece a lad baptised Anastasios would usually be called Tassos day to day.

A girl Anastasia would be called Tasia.

I know an Anastasia - Stassi
And an Anastarzja - nasta to friends and her mum calls her starry and called her twinkle when she was tiny which I think is adorable.
Both adults and the latter doesn't go by twinkle now!

The one I know is Stazzy. I have to say, I think it it does not reflect how nice her actual name is.

The one I know is Nastya.
There’s so many ways you can shorten it though, so go with what you like best.

catin8oots · 21/05/2024 23:45

Stassie

MonsteraMama · 21/05/2024 23:51

I know three bizarrely. Two are mid-late 30's and go by Annie, and one is 17 and goes by Nastasya to her family but is known as Nasty by her fellow teens. She is what my daughter calls "a baddie", which is apparently a good thing 😂

how would you say "Tasia"?
This is a Greek girl with no Greek contacts- "Nastia" is her home nn but that doesn't suit her.

I used to teach one who went by Stasi (pronounced Star-zee).

I hope she never visits Germany.

I like Tansy but also Anna, Annie, Tasia, Nasta, Stana.

mstoucan · 26/05/2024 08:57

My friend Anastasia gets “Stas” (pronounced “stars”) as a nickname, which I think is cool!
