Do you think boy or girl when you hear this name?

Fallen in love with the name Shiloh (shy-low) but want to know if people think it’s more suited to a boy or girl.

we are thinking Shiloh James for a boy or Shiloh Joy for a girl.

Before the Pitt Jolie girl it was definitely a boy's name for me. I still prefer it as a boy's name.

The only Shiloh I know of in RL is a 3 year old boy. However I can remember being very surprised at the time the name was announced as as I thought it was very feminine sounding.

Couldn’t vote as it’s truly unisex imo. Famous examples Shiloh Jolie Pitt and Shiloh Hernandez. I think it’s a well known Battle name too so some people might think of that before celebs as well.

Though I guess Brangelina’s daughter might become a megastar like her parents in the future and so then people might automatically think girl.

Ooh I remember having this conversation with a friend when it was revealed that Brad and Angelina named their child Shiloh.

The friend in question was a conservative Christian from Nigeria, and she went mental about Shiloh being used for a girl. She said it was from the bible and it was disgusting that it was being used on a girl and that it was holy and shouldn’t be used as a trendy celebrity name. I sat there, clueless about what she was talking about, and mumbled it sounds like a quirky girl name.

I must admit I do think girl name because of Shiloh Jolie-Pitt but Shiloh James is gorgeous!

It is a girl's name in current times. I would feel a little sorry for a man with a girls name, 😔

Brad and Angelina’s daughter, it’s the only one I’ve heard of.
For me, it has that feel of calling your child Beyoncé as a result IYSWIM.

It’s a boys name - but because Brangelina used it for their daughter, it’s sort of gone to the girls.

Our neighbours in the 80s had a dog called Shiloh - it was a boy!

Boy to me, its an old testament name, I didn't know it could be a girls name as well.

I'd think boy...didn't know about Angelina and Brad Pitt's daughter until reading this thread. It just sounds masculine to my ear.

Probably why they went with Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, rather than just Pitt.
