Naming a sister for Fleur and Rafferty

Love the name Daphne but worried it doesn’t flow with Rafferty and the similar nickname thing of Raffy and Daffy
Although not sure if I care that deeply as I still love the name
My second choice is Honey which I’ve loved since Fleur and was too scared to choose Honey!
Other suggestions welcome, hopefully you can catch my vibe from the names I’ve mentioned!
Thanks 🤍

I would use Daphne as the second name - Raff and Daff is bad.
Fleur, Rafferty and ..

Honora Daphne - Honey
Honor Daphne - Honey
Cosima Constance - Cosi or Coco
Camilla Daphne
Anna Daphne

I think Daphne goes beautifully with Fleur and Rafferty (you have great naming taste)! She could be Daph, Fifi, Fen for short.
The first name that came to mind reading your children's names was Cora. Others:
Clara
Odette
Ophelia
Clementine
Primrose
Margot

Love Odette I’ve wanted to use this before but I’m from Yorkshire and the O sound just doesn’t work in my accent it makes it sound a lot less lovely 😂
Thank you!!

What lovely names.
I think I would avoid Daphne because of Raffy and Daffy.
i think Honey goes beautifully with Rafferty and Fleur.

Some other ideas:
Anouk
Bella
Tamsin
Danaé

Anouk is very cool - OH loves this I just don’t think I’m cool enough to pull it off 😂

Daphne is lovely but I can see why you’re concerned. Personally, I’m not a huge fan of Honey and would use it as a middle rather than first name.

My first thought was Margot. I also think Isobel would go very well but appreciate that’s a more popular choice. Or Ophelia?

If we went with Daphne she would probably be Daphne Honey

Margot I can totally see why it would spring to mind with our other names but I just don’t like it for some reason! I know it’s quite popular at the moment so must just be me who doesn’t like it, I’m not sure why!

Wasn’t ’Daphne Honey’ what Donny often called Daphne in Frasier?

Ooh I don’t know I’ve never seen it!

There’s 11 series of Frasier available on Ch4 - something to look forward to when you’re stuck on the sofa with a newborn.

Daphne is lovely. I also love Xanthe.
My first thought when seeing your other names was Tabitha. Or Cressida.

Sorrel
Saskia
Cassia
Imogen
Briar
I think Saffron too, but not Saffy and Raffy!
You have great taste

I wouldn't worry about the name going with the other two. She'll spend most of her life as a separate adult, so just pick the best one/one you love the most.

I know an adult Honey and no not the one in EastEnders. It's just her name and I have never thought of it being odd as an adult name because I have only ever known her as an adult. So go for it.

I'm confused are people saying Daphne and Rafferty sound the same 🤔 or do you mean raffy and daffy??
Is your daughter known as raffy op??

Aria999 · 15/05/2024 20:35

I think it’s just there actually being a lot of ‘F’ sounds between all three names tbh - Rafferty (nn Raffy is my son not my daughter sorry!) I must just really like the F/PH sound 🙃 i suppose Daphne would get shortened to Daph/Daffy a bit but I don’t think I actually mind too much don’t think the feedback has been too brutal

I know an adult Honey, it's quite funny because she's an absolute dragon lady very high up in a company I used to work for. Really ruthless and fierce, I often wondered if she developed her titanium shell because of her sugary name! (I still think it's a cute name though)

Daphne is perfect, goes really well with the other two and has lots of nickname options. I wouldn't worry about the possibility of cutesy Daffy and Raffy, even if it happens it'll be sweet when they're little and funny when they're older.
