Naming a genderless Miscarriaged baby

Hi sorry this is heavy.
I was pregnant with twins nearly 3 years ago.
I lost baby B early into the pregnancy.
We don't know the gender.
I can't get passed it and I feel like I need to name the baby I lost.
My husband said he doesn't want just any name. It needs to mean something. But also be unisex.
I've tried Google but I just can't find anything.
I have already suggested :
Baby B
Baby Wood (last name)
Baby dot
Sydney
Phoenix
But my husband don't think these names are personal enough.
The child we have has a very sentimental, meaningful name and he things the twin deserves the same. Which I agree. I'm just finding it hard when we didn't know the gender, so to try and find a name that means just as much for us is hard.
Can anyone help.
I've looked into "wings" names, thinking I could find a name that represents wings but none of them stood out to us.
Sorry if this post is very to the point, and seems very unemotional. I just find it easier to talk about this way.

😇 Angel.

scrivette · 14/05/2024 18:33

Anahera means angel in Māori
Cassiel is the name of an angel, it's is a boys name but also works for a girl.
Mirren - beloved

So sorry for your loss OP but this seems like such a good step towards taking closure and healing from your grief.
Do you want to honour the other twins name at all maybe, you could have starting with the same letter? Any late family members you want to honour?

my suggestions-
River
Cove
Ocean
Beau- means loved
Soleil (pronounced So-lay), and means sunshine
Blue- often connoted with peace and tranquility
Eden maybe if you’re religious
Sonny/Sunny
Noah- meaning rest

I'm so sorry for your loss. What about Nova?

a transient astronomical event that causes the sudden appearance of a bright, apparently "new" star (hence the name "nova", Latin for "new") that slowly fades over weeks or months.

I love that.
I love everyone else's suggestions too but a lot of them we wouldn't have been able to use, e.g Skye. That was my husbands dogs name 😂
But I've just brung up nova to him and straight away he knew the meaning behind it.
Thank you do much. I think nova is what we will mame them, it's beautiful with such a touching and meaningful meaning behind it.
Thank you x

I lost a baby at about 8 weeks. Both my partner and I had imagined that she was a girl (as we had imagined our future together with a baby girl) so we named her Flo, which is the name she would have had if she had lived. I have no idea if the baby I was carrying was a boy or girl, but it doesn't feel wrong to have assumed her sex. I think it helped us to grieve the loss of the future that we thought we would have, which was having a baby girl together.

Edited to add I'm so sorry for your loss.

Edited

I miscarried at 16 weeks and had dreamed she was a girl. Like you it didn't feel wrong to attribute a gender. I called her Danny, short for Danielle, but I didn't tell my DH.

OP my condolences for your loss 💐

coolcoolcoolcool · 14/05/2024 20:25

@Laura199214 it's a beautiful name. ❤️

Beachs · 14/05/2024 20:45

So sorry for your loss not that you will ever get over it but I’d definitely recommend counselling to help you with your grief.

How about Seren is Welsh for star and can be used for both boys and girls despite being primarily used for girls. Your baby is a star looking down on your lovely family.

xx

OliveTheaBough · 14/05/2024 20:50

Could you give the baby a name of a place that means something to you both?

cherryassam · 14/05/2024 20:51

Nova is lovely @Laura199214

Sugargliderwombat · 14/05/2024 20:51

Edit : just seen your update - nova is beautiful.

Gowlett · 14/05/2024 20:56

I called my lost baby after the month she was born.
I didn’t know the sex, but it was a girl in my heart…

DeadButDelicious · 14/05/2024 20:57

Nova is a beautiful name, a fine choice.

All the love to you, I'm so sorry for your loss. Flowers

Fifiesta · 14/05/2024 21:04

‘Loved one’ - find a word in any language that means that.
I hope you find peace, while keeping your lost baby in your heart always x

Motnight · 14/05/2024 21:06

TheHorneSection · 14/05/2024 21:09

Nova is a gorgeous name. It’s a lovely thing to do, their twin will always be able to carry them with them as a person.

PatchworkElmer · 14/05/2024 21:33

Star? Robin is lovely too.

I’m so sorry for your loss.

PatchworkElmer · 14/05/2024 21:34

Sorry, just seen your update! Glad you’ve found something that is meaningful for you both.

StMarieforme · 14/05/2024 22:09

Nova will also be lovely for your LO to have as their Twin's name, with beautiful and timeless imagery.

A beautiful name. 💐

FriedGold · 14/05/2024 22:11

IdaPolly · 14/05/2024 14:45

Could you use an adjective. Eg. Lovely. Or a noun that reflects their size when you lost them? When I was expecting dd1 I called her Peanut in the early stages.

I don’t think this is quite the special name OP has in mind?!

Daisy12Maisie · 14/05/2024 23:53

I lost a baby at either 17 weeks pregnant. I named the baby Alex. It did turn out to be a boy but it was a unisex name.
Can you give it a unisex first name and a name that has meaning for a middle name?

ashtyler · 15/05/2024 00:12

I’m so sorry for your loss Flowers

Taisce is a unisex Irish name meaning treasure x

ashtyler · 15/05/2024 00:13

RookieMa · 15/05/2024 00:56
