DH and I are really struggling to pick a name, I'm due in 2 weeks and we don't even have a mutual shortlist

My shortlist is
Irina (Ih-reen-ah)
Katya
Alma

DH shortlist
Florence
Margot
Beatrice

We have identified Alexandra and Anna is potential middle ground of our styles but neither of us love either.
I think his names are a bit fussy, he thinks mine are too Russian (we aren't Russian).

Can you think of any names we may both like?

It seems to me that your "common ground" is shorter names with As in them that are relatively common for English speakers? I'd suggest:

Alina
Alisa
Cora
Elena
Julia
Larisa/Laryssa
Lyra
Nadia
Nora
Sonia

(Edit: I just saw that this is an older post! Hope everything is well with you and your baby - what name did you end up choosing?)

I think obviously foreign names on English people is naff, sorry. Margot is a nice name but will be one of many, Florence is nice!

Wow, 2 totally different styles.
I totally thought you were Russian or eastern European with those names and that hubby was classical English.

Anna could be common middle ground, it's a classic which crises over many styles and countries.

Sara, Camille, Naomi, Saffron, Clara, Mia, Gwen.

What name did you settle on in the end?
