What do people think of this?

Absolutely not. Clementine is okish !

FrannieGallops · 27/04/2024 06:47

Clementine is nice. Clementina is awful and runs the risk of Tina as a nickname which is beyond dreadful.

KeinLiebeslied54321 · 27/04/2024 06:48

Clementina sounds overdone to me.
Clementine is nicer although I immediately get an image of Winston Churchill (it was his wife's name).
I'm not overly keen on either.

I don’t think it sounds posh at all, quite the opposite, I am surprised at some of the comments.

It sounds like trying to be posh as opposed to actually posh.

Poshcatwithbigears · 27/04/2024 06:51

Clementine, yes

Clementina, no

ThomasinaLivesHere · 27/04/2024 06:54

I agree with previous posters that it’s quite fussy and ott. The only one I’ve heard of is Bonnie Prince Charles’ mother was Maria Clementina.

Ibelieveinangles1 · 27/04/2024 07:19

I think it’s beautiful as a sound but also couldn’t do it. One of those fanciful names that I feel I couldn’t get away with.
I know a lovely Justina if you like the Tina ending (I do). Or Valentina.

Nooooo. If you want to name your child after a small orange and want the name to end in 'a', call him/her Satsuma.

🤣🤣

RecruitmentGuru · 27/04/2024 07:34

Lovely but I prefer Clementine, another lovely name is Eleanore.

Or Clemmy which is even worse.

abracadabra1980 · 27/04/2024 07:44

Not for me, sorry.

rollonretirementfgs · 27/04/2024 07:53

Too much like orangina!

penelopewalks · 27/04/2024 07:55

Clementine is lovely.
Clementina is silly. And sounds almost eastern european sex worker.

gettingolderbutcooler · 27/04/2024 07:59

Sounds like a delightful fruity drink.

RuthW · 27/04/2024 08:20

I love it

RecruitmentGuru · 27/04/2024 08:21

Another similar one Claudine would become Claudie?

TheQuietWan · 27/04/2024 08:22

Too frilly

theduchessofspork · 27/04/2024 08:26

It’s OK but a bit fussy

Clementine is nicer

I’d also be worried she’d end up Tina for short

SomeBollocks · 27/04/2024 08:36

Like orangina but smaller and sweeter.

Clementine is really pretty although personally I couldn't get past the sad song 😔

Same all I can think of is Mark Owen now

This ^
Clementine is a lovely name and also on my list and I'm unswayed by the Mark Owen song.
Although it will now be an awful ear worm.

NashvilleQueen · 27/04/2024 08:56

Clementina is really popular in Europe.

IamaRevenant · 27/04/2024 14:13

I don't like it. Or Clementine. My friend is called this and goes by Clemmie which just sounds like a mashup of clammy and phlegmy to me.

I know it's one of those MN popular names but just... no.

Agree with this. It’s a nice fruit, but I think both Clementine and Clementina are a bit too much, and sound like you need an inherited title to match.

GoodOldEmmaNess · 28/04/2024 13:42

lololol at clammy and phlegmy. (Those would be great names for twins btw)
