We are really struggling to decide on a name. Our 4yo is called Charlotte and our current list is

Phoebe
Ella
Erin
Freya
Emily

which of these would be your favourite and are there any you dislike?

All lovely names and I think they all go very nicely with CharIotte.
I think it depends where you are with the popularity, in Scotland Erin is quite popular.

Phoebe - love but different vibe to Charlotte I think, if that bothers you
Ella - a bit blah and nothingy, especially next to Charlotte
Erin - really like this too
Emily - ok, works well with Charlotte
Freya - ok

Phoebe is very cute. I absolutely detest Freya

Moveoverdarlin · 20/02/2024 10:30

Freya is the best. Erin is the worst.

I’m still just as stuck after all these responses. My partner only likes what he considers ‘normal names’ and I like some that are a bit more unusual but not too unusual. When we had our first daughter we had no names that we absolutely loved and we are the same again this time. These are just the only names that neither of us have ruled out. So although we like these names we don’t love them. We have 3 months left to decide anyway, but these last 6 months have flown by 😅

Emily or Freya

DuchessOfSausage · 20/02/2024 18:03

Phoebe - like
Ella - overused
Erin - don't like
Freya - don't like
Emily - ok, prefer Emma. Goes well with Charlotte

I wouldn’t worry it’s the person you end up loving rather than the name. The names you mentioned are all nice, shouldn’t date horribly & could belong to women in any profession.

How about Ellen, Elspeth or Imogen?

Otherwise I would just go with what works with your surname best.

Freya by a mile! Great, strong, independent name.
Then:
Emily
Phoebe

Ella (1/2 a name & way too many of them at the moment)

Erin. It's very spikey!
