Eloise, Noa, Noelle or Eleanor??!! Name Poll

Please help me decide on what to call my daughter.

We both love Noa but worried it’s too popular as a boy name and will forever be saying ‘no H’ and she’s a girl! Middle names Louise and Jean are honour names.

Eloise - gets spelt as Elouise, which is horrible
Noa - 'Noa No h'. Noah too popular
Noelle - don't like it
Eleanor - overused. Ellen-uh or Ellen-Or?

Jean Louise is much nicer than your list

yikesanotherbooboo · 18/02/2024 10:13

I have always liked Eleanor but there are an awful lot of Ellies.
I would choose Jean of your names , it feels a little more current if that is important to you and there are many positive associations.

My fave from your list ..
Eloise Noa Jean

Suggestions ..
Eloise Jean
Noa Jean Louise
Noelle Jean Louise

bzarda · 18/02/2024 10:22

Eloise is my mums name and she gets called Ally, Ellie, and Louise as nicknames so I would avoid Eloise Louise if you can.

All lovely names :) I love Eloise and Noelle

shoopshoopdedoo · 18/02/2024 10:29

I quite like Noelle and Eleanor. Not keen on Noa. Really dislike Eloise.

I love Jean! I’d go with Jean Louise. Also love Louisa Jean.

I would switch the middle names
Eleonor Jean Louise has a better flow

Agree with this

purpleme12 · 18/02/2024 11:19

Noelle

PennyPugwash · 18/02/2024 11:42

Eloise for the win

Scrumbleton · 18/02/2024 11:51

sorry i think Noa would be a mistake. i love Eloise - unusual but not too out there. I'd drop Louise as the middle name tho as already covered in the first name.

Spirallingdownwards · 18/02/2024 11:57

Very unmumsnetty I know but I like all 4 variations 😁 But prefer Eloise.

Caspianberg · 18/02/2024 11:58

Noa is Jewish imo, so fine if your Jewish, tad strange otherwise

Nora?

Nora Jean Louise

TheWordWomanIsTaken · 18/02/2024 15:20

Noelle

Chickcloud · 18/02/2024 20:05

Noelle. Only ever met one and thought it was a lovely name!

DiscoBeat · 18/02/2024 20:10

I mean admit, whenever I hear Noel/Noelle I assume that person was born at Christmas. Noa is lovely but will require a spelling lesson every single time. So from those choices I would go with Elouise.

PeridotSparkle · 18/02/2024 22:16

You cant use Eloise and Louise!

It's ELOISE!!

PeridotSparkle · 18/02/2024 22:18

I know a Noelle and it's nit pronounced christmassy.

She pronounces it Nole to rhyme with cole.

Not No elle

Just saying.

ThursdayTomorrow · 18/02/2024 22:20

Noa is definitely a beardy old Biblical guy.

NewYearNewJob2024 · 18/02/2024 22:21

Noelle!

DiscoBeat · 19/02/2024 07:49

purpleme12 · 18/02/2024 22:18

It's ELOISE!!

Argh, genuine mistake, sorry!!

TM1979 · 19/02/2024 07:51

Love Noelle. Not keen on the others at all especially Eloise.

NewMoonontuesday · 19/02/2024 16:14

I know an Eloise and she never gets Ella/Ellie as nickname always her full name. But I would spell it Heloise.
But I love Eleanor, like Queen Eleanor of Aquitaine.

KirstenBlest · 19/02/2024 16:59

But I would spell it Heloise. I wouldn't. People will say it as Hel-, and it looks like it needs an accent.

KThnxBye · 19/02/2024 17:07

Out of those choices I’d choose Eleanor Louise Jean.

Other possible permutations I like:

Louisa Eleanor Jean
Evangeline (Genie - Jeanie) Louise
Jean Eloise
Elinor Louisa Jean

Sweetcheesecake · 19/02/2024 17:09

Noelle Louise Jean sounds like you are telling people the name is Louise with no ‘L’ IYSWIM. I think I like Noelle best but only if you switch the middle names around to Jean Louise.
