A brother for Zara..

Looking for some ideas, my husband likes quite classic names that work well in England (from a pronunciation pov) and I like more Celtic/Scandi/nature based names. We have a daughter called Zara. Surname is very common in England, VERY common.
My favourites at the moment are Arthur, Cohen, Bowen, Finn, Max, Torrin and Eddie. Eddie and Arthur probably the two that work best for our joint likes but husband has not committed 😂 so coming for some more names to add to the list!

@mihele I actually meant to write Coen which has a few different meanings in German and Aboriginal cultures, my phone had autocorrected to Cohen and I was completely unaware of the links mentioned so will take it off my list, thank you for highlighting! ❤️

Lots of lovely names to add to the list, will get my DH to go through them later 😍 thanks all!

Eddie and Arthur are too popular - especially with a common surname.

From your title I thought Zara and Max before reading the full post!
I don't think Zara and Arthur work well together, there's too much "arrr" in there.

@ForAquaBee tell me, what other of my pretty standard name choices have bothered you? People like you honestly must have such empty lives to come onto a baby name thread and make pointless rude comments. Get a fucking life

@ForAquaBee I wonder if you take the same issue with children called George, John, Lewis, Boden, Florence, Fred... The list goes on

My Zara has a brother named Nicholas. He's an adult now, so Nick.

ForAquaBee · 13/02/2024 20:10

Yes, for your information, I do.

theotherfossilsister · 13/02/2024 20:13

Daniel is nice with Zara.

Flopsy145 · 13/02/2024 20:23

@ForAquaBee you take issue with names like George and Florence? Think the issue lies with you I'm afraid 😂

@Flopsy145 you're welcome! I loved it when I was pregnant with DS but my DH wasn't keen. To me it is a perfect classic but not overused name
