Need help in settling on baby boy name

Hello,

We are expecting a baby boy soon. We are thinking of either Anthony (UK pronunciation) or David. We are looking for a name that fits both German and English backgrounds.

Also I'm wondering if the spelling Antony would be OK or it's less common and more confusing?

David is pronounced quite differently in English and German. Do you like both and would be happy for both to be used interchangeably?

Yes, we are fine with pronunciation for David. I think same problem with Anthony in German.

The th will be said as t in Germany.

Of the two, David works much better in both languages.

Lovely names.

I'd choose Anthony though the Antony spelling is perfectly good too, and the TH would be pronounced T in German.

Both are fine, my personal favourite is David.

Anthony or Antony, or David -
I think they are all great names!

I think the name/(spelling) Antony sounds perfectly fine,
(I am from Sweden, where the same name is usually just "Anton".)

David is my pick.

Antony is better than Anthony. The pronunciation is clearer.
Tony is not a fave. Dave is a fave.

I think the problem with Anthony and David is they often end up Tony and Dave, which I’d find really off putting.

Alexander or Daniel maybe?

If you use the Antony spelling then at least in England it does get misspelt a lot. The one I know finds it annoying
