I want to give an english first name and arabic middle name, as it may well get called the arabic name by moroccan relatives but as the surname is moroccan I want an english first name...anyway

Clara Jasmine
Clara Yasmina
Ada Naima
Ada Karima

What do you think?

other nie names in my family... latifa, nafisa, hajar, leila, nadia, soumia, jamila, rakaia..

For the Arabic, I love: Sara, Maria, Dahlia, Samara, Lana, Ala (pronounced Arla) Cala, Zahra, Tahra, Malikah, Nadia (although my DH says thats 'old fashioned' now!) I like these as they are mostly cross-over names.

Clara Naima? Both lovely names.

I love Leila.

BINAH · 24/03/2008 20:22

sarah, fatma, aysha

oregonianabroad · 24/03/2008 20:26

Leila and Soraya are both beautiful.

Skip the English name imo, just have the one name -- she'll be unique and proud.

oregonianabroad · 24/03/2008 20:27

She'll be unique and proud anyway, and this is none of my business, sorry.

carmenelectra · 24/03/2008 20:29

Jasmine and Yasmina both lovely and i love the name Lale (Turkish though!)

slim22 · 24/03/2008 20:36

Yasmina my best friend
Naima my mum

Love them both. Naima is a bit old fashioned in Morocco nowadays. Yasmina quite common (not to put you off!)

I'm currently having same dilemna. I think we're going to go with Aida. DS wants Lamia. DH keeps quiet as he chose DS's name.

slim22 · 24/03/2008 20:36

I love Soraya too.

Clara Soraya sounds good.

dorisofdevon · 24/03/2008 20:44

How about lydia

Hi,

you can check out:

www.arabicenglishbabynames.com

It lists all the names that work in both english and arabic.
Good luck!

Middle names are fine but I don't like Clara or Ada at all.

starkid · 06/02/2019 16:45

Clara Yasmina sounds lovely :)
