Rosa

I'm interested on thoughts/first reactions, please?

...the name is a serious contender for our baby girl.

Alternative would be Rose, but I think our preference is Rosa, with options of nicknames Rose or Rosie.

Sibling names are what I would describe as simple English classics similar to Charlie or Benjamin.

We have a Rosa, she's 3, and we get many compliments on her name, we still absolutely love it.
We don't use nicknames for her but obviously over time someone might call her Rosie.
We're fairly political so people assume Rosa Parks and/or Luxembourg were the inspiration. We love the connection to these important historical figures but actually she's named for Glen Rosa, one of our favourite places near where we live.
I've definitely noticed it become more popular since she was born in 2020!

I really like both Rosa and Rose - I think it depends on how it works with the surname if you’re choosing between them. Which full name has more resonance?

My first DS ( I have 5 so it was never used ) was going to be Rosanna nn Rosie ? I. Like Rosa as well though .

Rosa is pretty. But I do always think of the cranky maid in Will & Grace. I have only seen repeats of it, I was a very young child when it first aired.

Personally I would lean towards Rose over Rosa

I love Rosie and Rose. Less keen on Rosa though I’m not sure why. I think Rose maybe sounds stronger and it’s timeless.

I like Rosa... but I always trip with how similar it is to Rose. I always want to say something between Rosa and Rose.

There's no meaningful difference when paired with our surname. Both sound equally good so it's down to personal preference... (would definitely be more helpful for decision making if there was a clear winner on that front!)

What did you go for in the end @Poppins2016? We probably had our babies around the same time and mine is a Rosa 🥰

We decided on Rose for official use/the birth certificate, but most often use Rosie day to day. Rose/Rosie felt like the most natural combination with the names of her older siblings (boys with classic English names).
