Sister or brother for Emily and Lucy

Hello 👋🏼,

Just found out we're expecting baby number 3. Feels very surreal.

We have an Emily Kate and a Lucy Elizabeth.
Initial thoughts were : Amy Florence (?)

No idea for a boys name 👀

Any suggestions please? I'm hoping talking about names might make this a little more real. ❤️

I have a daughter and a cousin called Emily and Amy. Everyone including me mixes up the names when they're together. There's just something too similar about them.

Mary for very retro?
Isobel for a similar feel and the Izzy shortening?
Elizabeth is lovely with Lizzie for short but maybe you don't want two E names

I don’t mind Amy but I always find it mildly listless, maybe..

Amy Florence is lovely. I love your children’s names. Lucy would have been our son’s name if he were a girl so I think we might have similar tastes. His name is Matthew and I think Lucy and Matthew sound good together (still hoping to use Lucy one day).

Amy Florence is lovely! Your girls have great names!

We have a Lucy Alexandra, but Lucy Elizabeth was also on our list. We also liked, but couldn't use, Sophie.

Our boys list included

I know a family with 3 girls, called Emily, Lucy and Alice

salamithumbs · 20/01/2024 23:20

I know of 4 siblings called Lucy, Emily, Sophie and Jack, and another family where the siblings are Lucy, Emily, Anna and Tom.
Also know two Lucys with brothers called Ben.

salamithumbs · 20/01/2024 23:21

Sorry meant to say Amy is very nice, maybe a bit too similar to Emily but not ridiculously so... think the twins who played Bethany in coronation street were called Amy and Emily!

MrsMagWeary · 20/01/2024 23:31

I've got sisters called Emily and Lucy though they're both over 40. Other siblings and middle names are Rachel, Rebecca, Sophie (Sophia), Charlotte, Benedict and James. All good classic names!

A few PP have suggested Imogen but that becomes Immie which is v similar to Emily and can be confusing.

OopsieeDaisy · 20/01/2024 23:32

First thoughts were Sophie and Henry, both lovely names that go well with your others.

BoleynMemories13 · 20/01/2024 23:53

Emily and Lucy are very classic. Amy is ok but a bit less classic. It feels quite dated now whereas the other two are still widely in use. Amy is also a bit samey with Emily.

Emily, Lucy and Charlotte was my initial thought. Thomas or Matthew for boys.

Plenty of classics would go though.

Amy Florence is lovely but I also like Rosie or Sophie with your girls names.

For a boy I think Benjamin, James, Edward or Thomas.
