Aurelia. Best of both worlds.

KatyPerryMenopause · 16/01/2024 19:26

Aurélia is beautiful as is its meaning "golden"

Brendan Cole's little girl has that name and a brother Danté.

Some MNetters think Aurelia is too close to aureole/areola or that Aurelie is too close to orally. These MNetters are wrong! Wink

Moana or Pocahontas.

MerryMarigold · 16/01/2024 19:28

I like Aria. Don't know of any.

KatyPerryMenopause · 16/01/2024 19:29

Not keen on Aria although I like Ari/NN for Ariana
Ariel is not as nice as Aurora in my book but I quite like Rory as a nn for a teen girl. Ariadne is gaining popularity but not with me although I like Sylvie, Effie and Elfie.

Smartiepants79 · 16/01/2024 19:31

I wouldn’t choose them as I wouldn’t name my child after a Disney princess. They’re pretty but I just wouldn’t do it.
Aria is nice.

Ellmau · 16/01/2024 19:36

I prefer Aurora - or Aurelia.

blackpanth · 16/01/2024 19:54

Aurora. My son is not even 2 and can pronounce it just fine

blackpanth · 16/01/2024 19:56

Just to add its my daughters name

noisyneighbour64 · 16/01/2024 19:56

Ariel. Or Arielle I love

KirstenBlest · 16/01/2024 20:01

Some people write tv aerial as tv ariel.

Kalevala · 16/01/2024 20:05

Ariel is a Hebrew boys name to me, it means lion of God. How about Arielle?

Mitherations · 16/01/2024 20:07

Aria out of the three, Ariel is for washing your socks.

MillicentRogers · 16/01/2024 20:09

I love Arielle and have a very old friend of that name.

Nice but Aurora is hard to say
Ariel is the Little Mermaid
Aria is lovely and THE best character in Game of Thrones! It has musical connections so as long as she wouldn’t feel pressure to be musical!

Arya and Aria shouldn’t be pronounced the same way though.

I think Cersei says ‘Aria’ at one point in series 1, but we don’t trust Cersei 😉

Aria20 · 16/01/2024 20:12

Aria or Arielle/Ariella. Not keen on Aurora.

KnittingKnewbie · 16/01/2024 20:13

Aurora!

Also - Aurelie/Aurelia/Aureliana?

Goawaytina · 16/01/2024 20:14

What about auriel? Easier to say that aurora I think

EmiliaRuusuvuori · 16/01/2024 20:16

They are all lovely.
What about Aryna or Avery ?

MooseAndSquirrelLoveFlannel · 16/01/2024 20:19

Don't name your child after a disney princess, this name will be for an adult in just a few short years.

NameChangeForThisPost234 · 16/01/2024 20:21

I wouldn't personally want my child named after a Disney princess so Aurora and Ariel are out. If you're absolutely that way inclined though, maybe something less popular than the little mermaid or sleeping beauty. E.g. Giselle, Atta, Megara, Tiana

Snugglemonkey · 16/01/2024 20:24

I think Disney names are a really bad idea. Very few adult women want a princess name.

JayAlfredPrufrock · 16/01/2024 20:27

Ariel to me is the male spirit in The Tempest.

Takeitinturns · 16/01/2024 20:38

These are names that existed before they were given to Disney princesses 🙄
I think Aurora will date whereas Ariel is quite fresh and spunky and nobody will associate her with the little mermaid once they have got used to her name as hers. I don’t like Aria, it’s like an exhale.

theduchessofspork · 16/01/2024 20:41

Aurora

Ariel is a bit washing powder and a bit mermaid, and Aria is a bit Aryan and a bit GOT obsessive.

All of these qu popular though, if that bothers you?

Aurelia, Adela, Annalisa / Annalise are less used
