Hello, would appreciate any suggestions for a nice English middle name that works well with Arun, my husband is Indian and wants an Indian first name for our baby. I am just about happy with Arun, but he doesn't like the middle name I like (James) - so any other suggestions from clever mumsnetters?

We have friends with an Arun Dylan. Others we know have called their child Aaron ( a bit like Arun but more western looking) TBH I think it's more important that his first name has to work well with your DPs surname-unless you are planning to call him by his middle name???

Thanks, lots of nice food for thought here but interesting lots of people like James too; maybe I will have to work on the husband!

Arun goes well with our surname (obviously also Indian but relatively easy to pronounce), so that's not a problem, but I do want a middle name that works with them both although I appreciate it doesn't get used a lot, it's my cultural contribution to his name and hence important to me! I like Arun and importantly it is easy to say and spell (for my family as well as the little lad himself) although it is not always easy to choose and love a name from a culture which is not your own.

Thanks for ideas!
