Which one is your favourite? :)

Very simple one syllable family name, I'm French my DH is English.

Thanks!

How about Sabine?

Enko · 22/12/2023 07:29

I've.loved Sabrina since I was a teenager. So it gets my.vote. Next is Anne Marie

Doublebiscuit77 · 22/12/2023 09:25

My vote was for Anne-Marie but Marianne is much better! It's a beautiful name.

JamSandle · 22/12/2023 09:26

All really lovely names. I'm partial to Sabrina.

Whatisityoucantface · 22/12/2023 09:46

Sabrina, what a wonderful name! And I loved the teenage witch, so nothing wrong with that association imo

Previousreligion · 22/12/2023 09:47

I prefer Anne-Marie.
I like Sabrina.
Less keen on Sienna but it's just personal taste, there's nothing wrong with it.

ladygindiva · 22/12/2023 09:48

Sabrina
But they're all nice x

shoopshoopdedoo · 22/12/2023 20:34

Prefer Marianne
Quite like Sabrina
Anne-Marie is OK
Really dislike Sienna

Lorelei89 · 22/12/2023 20:44

Thank you so much everyone, Sabrina and Marianne go on my shortlist. I scrape Sienna since you convinced me not to use it, ditto with Anne Marie. 😚

Sabrina is unusual

user1477391263 · 23/12/2023 06:24

Sienna is pretty enough but a bit of a dated trend.

Anne-Marie… sounds very “old school classic French,” I think I’d assume the family was quite religious. The problem with hyphenated names is that they often get confused with something else because people remember it’s a hyphenated name but don’t always remember which one it is. And so you end up being called Mary-Anne, Anne-Louise etc. It is not bad, though.

I love Sabrina; doubt her generation will remember the 90s series and anyway, teenage witch sounds like a fun connotation to me!

Grumblevision · 25/12/2023 18:14

Anne-Marie

Spyrothedragonn · 25/12/2023 20:59

Sabrina - none of her peers will know about teenage witch. It has a nice, on trend “a” ending but the plosive B makes it feel fresher than the vowel heavy liquid consonant names :)

gemma19846 · 25/12/2023 21:19

Anne-Marie is old fashioned and boring. Sienna is nice but very common
Sabrina is a very common Muslim name

There must be nicer French girls names out there?

blackpanth · 25/12/2023 21:34

Sabrina 🐈‍⬛

Grendell · 25/12/2023 21:38

I would not want a hyphen in my first name. So, it would be Annemarie.

Sophierx89 · 25/12/2023 23:57

I love Sabrina, its different and pretty!

KirstenBlest · 26/12/2023 13:59

Grendell · 25/12/2023 21:38

I would not want a hyphen in my first name. So, it would be Annemarie.

But then you'd be 'Annemarie all-one-word' instead of 'Anne-hyphen-Marie'
Marianne works better.

I know someone with an Annemarie type name and it sort of looks weird. Not the actual name but something like Emmamarie

aibutohavethisusername · 26/12/2023 17:53

Sienna

Emma8888 · 26/12/2023 18:41

They rebooted 'Sabrina the teenage witch' as 'The chilling adventures of Sabrina' in 2019 or so and it was really popular among teens etc. even though most of us remember the 90s version. I have to say given how 'trampy' the main character is I personally would steer clear of that name.

I do really like Sabine though.

Thank You for the update, OP!

Borris · 26/12/2023 18:54

I'd call a dd Marianne I gave birth tomorrow. Lovely name.

Duechristmas · 27/12/2023 21:02

I know somebody called Ann-Marie, whenever we introduced ourselves people would think she was saying 'and Marie'.
Sabrina is ok but very teenage witch.
