Isabella and ? - 10 day old twins

My twin girls are now 10 days old and still effectively nameless.
We are pretty set on Isabella for one baby but baby 2 is nameless.
We don't care about popularity but do want the names to feel like they go well together (I know some people don't care about this but we do). DH would like them to have the same number of letters/syllables but I'm less fussed on that.

So far we've tried but not adored
Madeline
Florence (hard no)
Amelia (leading favourite, but DH doesn't like that it's shorter)
Savannah (I'm not a fan)
Sophia
Florissa (totally different vibe and I don't love it!)

At this point I'm thinking we scrap Isabella as a name and go for Amelia and Sophia (DH would be fine with this as he just wants same number of letters etc.) but I do love Isabella ... help !!

The Isabella I know has a sister Olivia, different number of letters but the same syllables. I think with such a long fussy name a single syllable would be a good contrast

geoger · 17/12/2023 19:48

Isabella and Delilah

I second Matilda. Great taste @Hibernatalie

Juniperberries200 · 17/12/2023 19:50

Isabella and Cassandra
Isabella and Francesca
Isabella and Julia
Isabella and Constance

I'm not a fan of two names ending in the same sound.

Isabella goes well with
PP mentioned Meredith, Charlotte, Felicity, Catherine, Xanthe, Rosalie, Victoria, Gabrielle

Imagine writing greetings cards and signing off You, DH, Isabella and who?

Penelope, Hermione, Josephine, Marianne.

So many options that sit well together, without the same number of letters of syllables.

RafaistheKingofClay · 17/12/2023 19:51

Adrianna?

has the right number of letters and syllables.

Would Isabelle work better. Lots more options with 3 syllables.

Florissa is terrible please don’t!

I think out of your list Sophia is best (quite like Isabella and sophie tbh).

I think Charlotte works well with Isabella.

Matilda and Isabella?
Beatrice and Isabella?

Jeannie88 · 17/12/2023 19:52

Isabella is one of my favourites, well Isabelle so very close lol. I think Grace, Maisie, Ava, Molly and Josephine. Xx

I know 2 sets of twins called Isabella and Amelia (admittedly they’re about 8 and 10 now).

I wouldn't go for anything else ending in an a (or an a sound like the ah in Hannah), I think an e ending might go better. I also would avoid another name starting with an i.

Not all exactly 8 letters, but similar length:
Gabrielle
Beatrice
Celeste
Charlotte
Catherine
Juliette
Felicity
Josephine
Eloise
Genevieve
Clementine
Adelaide
Seraphine

I'm not saying I personally love all of those (although some of my favourites are there), but I feel like they mostly give off a similar, classic, vibe.
