Calling a baby Quentin!

Ooookkkkay, so my friend's going to call her little boy Quentin! She knows I hate it but I know she hates my chosen baby name and neither of us care, we both find it quite funny. Is anyone out there a fan of Quentin? Or do you think slightly weirdo 50 year old who wears a mismatch of tweed and mustard cord trousers?

Quintin (or however you spell it) - vile beyond belief.

ScubaDuba · 14/03/2008 20:45

The obvious point of reference is Quentin Crisp, 70s gay icon and many other things besides.

PaulaYatesBiggestFan · 14/03/2008 20:58

why do you think? lol

he was in a a gritty northern political band - quentin doesn't quite cut the mustard

PaulaYatesBiggestFan · 14/03/2008 20:59

lol at woody 'get wood'

choosyfloosy · 14/03/2008 21:01

in the last few years I've met an amazing Quentin - buff, frighteningly clever and an uberdad. If you like it, great. I do think it takes some living up to though.

chipmonkey · 14/03/2008 21:12

kitsmummy, you're not going to print the thread off and show it to your friend, are you?

Elasticwoman · 14/03/2008 21:15

I do not really think it appropriate unless he is your fifth child as it is from the Latin for fifth. But who cares about that, my dh's name means Brave in Battle or something like that and he's never been into battle.

Wilkie · 14/03/2008 21:17

Quentin - NOOOOOOOO!!

Woody - cute when tiny but would sound a bit daft when in his teen years on the pull!
