Do you like Rosie?

We are planning another child and was thinking about possible names. I have a Caylee already. What do you think about Rosie if it's a girl?

I like Clayton for a boy but it might clash with Caylee. So thought about Ayrton like in Senna.

Sorry a bit premature, but I'm stuck waiting in a waiting room and very bored 😂.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I love Ayrton! Rosie is sweet, I prefer Rosa though.

Blinkityblonk · 08/11/2023 10:05

I think the name Rosie is nice...but I do have a friend called Rosie who is anything but Rosie in her looks/complexion, and it's always seemed an incongruous name for her. She carries it well though. It's a bit like being called Grace and being really ungraceful.

My sister is about to have a baby and if it's a girl her name will be Rosie. I love it so much

Blinkityblonk · 08/11/2023 10:07

I also knew a really miserable lady called Joy...

teenysaladandsniffofarose · 08/11/2023 10:11

I really like Rosie! I feel like it's not used as much in recent years.

I think Clayton and Caylee sound ok together, they don't sound overly similar.

Ladyj84 · 08/11/2023 10:23

Clayton and caylee go great together

notacooldad · 08/11/2023 10:33

im not keen. It’s only because every time I’m introduced to a Rosie I start singing Whole lotta Rosie , in my head!😂

peaceinourtime · 08/11/2023 11:55

Not particularly

blackoverbillsmothers · 08/11/2023 12:17

To me Rosie isn’t a grown up name so I’d be using Rose officially and Rosie as a nn.
Having said that I prefer Rosa by a mile.

CesareBorgia · 08/11/2023 12:18

Rosamund, with Rosie as nn.

KirstenBlest · 08/11/2023 12:33

Rosie's fine for a baby or woman. Rosie Duffield, Rosie Cooper, Rosie Boycott, Rosie Jones, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley etc and a Whole Lotta Rosie

TM1979 · 08/11/2023 12:45

I love the name Rosie! Ds10 would have been Rosie if he’d been a girl! I watched The Killing when I was pregnant and the teenage girl in it was Rosie. Loved it. Don’t know any but I know 2 little girls called Rose..lovely also.

TheDogsMother · 08/11/2023 12:47

The only Rosie I know is a Jack Russell. Not helpful, sorry.

GeekyDiva80 · 08/11/2023 17:44

Thanks so much for your insightful replies. They also made me laugh. I thought Rose would be a great alternative if she needed a more grownup sounding name.

Rosa is nice too, as is Rosalind.

If it's a boy then maybe I'll go with my favourite, Clayton, if as you say it's not too clashy. Although, Ayrton is a very close second.

Our baby was going to be Rose known as Rosie when young. She turned out to be a he… so didn’t go with Rosie after all 🤣🤣🤣

STILL love it though

Like Rosie.

Hubblebubble · 08/11/2023 17:49

There's a lot of long names that can be shortened to Rosie for everyday use. Rosanna, Rosemary, Rosemarie, Rosa, Rose.

Of those names, I love Rosalind. I think it's so sophisticated, but you can be a Rosie if you choose. Rose is also lovely.

MadeForThis · 08/11/2023 19:02

Dd2 was almost Roise. Irish name pronounced Rosha

Surroundedbyfools · 08/11/2023 19:46

I love it. If I had had a girl I would have used Rosie. All boys here and no more babies for me lol

hiredandsqueak · 08/11/2023 20:33

I love it, mine is 30 now. She was the only one going through school and she has always liked her name so I consider it a win.
