Marlowe/Marlow?

Thoughts on Marlowe/Marlow for a girl?

Pregnant with my fourth, and are not finding out the gender until birth. Currently, we have Adelie, Clementine, and Elliott.

We have our boy name picked out, but are tied between Marlow/e and another Florence for girl.

It was highly debated when I posted about it earlier, and not sure it goes with my other kids, but something in me can't let it go!

Florence is lovely.

Marlow/e really isn't.

@Onesipmore , it's a town and worth a visit, as is Cookham.
@SausagesAreAmazing , It's better than being called Maidenhead or Well End I suppose.

No doubting it's a nice place to visit. Not so much a name for a child.
Well End....sounds like Bell End 😁

That's near Bromsgrove

There really is/was a place called Bell End in a small Buckinghamshire town. Was the address of a few ggparents and cousins. Caused much hilarity in the later family.

I’ve always quite liked Marlowe though realised it’s the nickname Marley I prefer and do also think it can be quite powerful for a little girl too!

Marley is a Ghost or Dog.

Marley often used as a name as tribute to Bob. Have met a few.

I know a little boy called Marlow. People tend to assume he’s a girl, which he finds a bit irritating. But lots of pps think of it as a boy’s name, so maybe a female Marlow would be mistaken for a boy; equally irritating. Not my cup of tea anyway.
