Danica, means from Denmark. Don't know if it's used much in Denmark itself, mind.

I like the name Solveig - said/sounds like Soolvey.

I agree on the if she’s growing up in the uk pronunciation to be aware!

Having had friends called Line, Tove and Merete and hearing how regularly they’re butchered.

and I’ve only heard (old) men called Rune!

Yes! I'm from Sweden, and in Sweden Rune is a name for mostly older men, 80+. It might have a revival, though!

I know 1 woman named Runa, but I don't think it's a common name in neither Sweden nor Denmark.

I don't think it's a very common name in Denmark.

"Flora Danica" is an atlas of plants, and the name of a porcelain.

I'd be put off that it is the name of a ferry - Stena Danica - runs from Gothenburg to Fredrikshavn

Yes - Rune was a popular name in the 1920s-30s - perhaps it is due a comeback

in Sweden
25 673 men are named Rune as one of their names - of these 5 930 have Rune as their main first name and the average age is 73.7 .

9 women are named Rune but none have it as their first name

I have a family member who is Scandinavian, she's called Elna and I think it's really pretty. Plus she's the loveliest person!

I follow a woman on Instagram who called her baby girl Dagny. I believe it's pronounced Dag-nee and is Danish for Daphne. Maybe a different vibe to what you're going for

In Danish it would be pronounced more like Dow-nee (although it would be more like Dag-nee in Swedish and Norwegian)

DH has a Danish aunt called Dagmar which the Danish relations pronounce as Dow-mar

I really like Linnea and don't think it would bring pronunciation problems.
