Would you use a name that sounded similar to your surname?

TTC but thinking of names. Not giving actual surname, as it’s not very common.

Would you use a name that has a similar ending to your surname or is it too clumsy?

Example:

Luca Barker, both ending in the ‘ca’ sound

Evie Stevens

Mason Jackson

Does it depend on the name, or would you avoid all together? Don’t want it to sound too comic book character ish. Thanks.

*Edited one of the examples as I thought of a name that better put across the point I was trying to make

Rather off putting when you have to change pronunciation between first and surnames eg
Evan Stevens or Sean Bean.
Or a generic name — friend’s MIL set her heart on calling her son John and didn’t change her mind even when she married a Mr Smith.
(An unexpected complication is that people eg Polce, Hotels etc think he’s kidding when he tells them his name.)

There's a Daisy Davies in DD's nursery. It's cute on a small child but I do wonder if it'll be great when she's all grown up.

There's also someone vaguely in the public light called Eddie Eccles. Honestly I love it and think it's cute but I'm not sure that's the reaction a grown adult wants!

I wouldn't do it for my own kids.

Luna Warner - must be your regional accent.

to me Luna ends in ah; Warner ends in ner and they sound nothing alike.

but if in your accent they sound the same then don’t do it.

On another tangent of names, u was out off naming my son the name I really wanted as with my surname it became a well known brand - not this, but like Hugo Boss. So think carefully!

Harriet Harman got away with it.
Something like Michelle Gravelle is too much but Daniel Mitchell is ok.
Arthur Carter, Rosie Vasey and Mason Dawson sound a bit too repetitive.
