Any ideas of short (one-syllable) girls names that would go with Georgia?

I have fallen in love with the name Georgia (not even pg yet btw ) but am struggling with the middle name.

I think it needs a short middle name - so any ideas?

My fave is Rose but I have a colleague whose DD is called Georgia Rose so I think it would be a bit weird

Near Minehead - really??? Wow, I assume she has more than 1 holiday home then as Minehead would not be my first choice if I could have a holiday home anywhere

Anyway, Doodle, Georgia Elizabeth is lovely but Elizabeth is my middle name and it seems a bit vain to name them after me iyswim (my grandchildren can use it as a tribute to me by all means ).

Georgia Kate is still my pick so far.

i woulod have choisen kate as a middle name had i had a dd

it's a pretty name

no nonsense

skidoodle · 04/03/2008 11:42

are you planning to call her by both names?

Otherwise it hardly matters whether they "go", does it?

Would be nice to call the child after her Granny so Georgia Ann would be lovely.

Can see why you like the name Georgia though, I think it's lovely. Hadn't thought of it for my own though. Funny how some names you like escape you as you rack your brains for something suitable.

AdeleFielder · 04/03/2008 20:24

My friends baby is called Georgia Rose and i always thought that sounds lovely, just seen it's been suggested already. But chances are your daughter isn't going to grow up knowing your colleague and you'll move on from there. Some times there are names that just seem to go together and maybe thats one of them!

totaleclipse · 04/03/2008 20:28

Georgia Kay

Desiderata · 04/03/2008 20:49

It has to be Georgia May (particularly if your surname is only one syllable)

dollyk · 04/03/2008 21:18

Georgia-Rae ?

Tinker · 04/03/2008 21:27

I was going to say Georgia Rae Great song by John Hiatt called Georgia Rae about his baby daughter of the same name.

Tinker · 04/03/2008 21:28

Lyrics here:

I know a girl, mess with your mind,

She'll come to you in the summer sometime

She'll talk about things you don't understand,

But you better keep to the matters at hand

Before the whole damn thing unwinds

She is beautiful, she is small

She don't wanna play basketball

There's no tellin' what she might do

Before her doin' days are through

But right now she can't even crawl

CHORUS:

Georgia Rae, OK, Georgia Rae

Georgia Rae, what'd I say Georgia Rae

Your mother and I we did this act

In some hotel 'bout nine moths back

Now, it's love that brings you here

A love that will not disappear

Georgia, honey, you can count on that

REPEAT CHORUS

BRIDGE:

We were tired, should've been sleepin'

But, like a fire, somethin' came creepin', creepin', creepin'

Your brother and sister don't understand

How your tiny feet and your tiny hands

Could carry the weight of a thousand earths

Into our little universe

But, Georgia, we all think it's grand

REPEAT CHORUS

Georgia Jayne? that was my initial thought...

squinny101 · 05/03/2008 13:25

Our DD was going to be Georgia Neve. She popped out and we turned her into a Honey Neve.

slinkiemalinki · 05/03/2008 16:40

I have a friend with a Georgia Kate. "Kate" feels a bit like a nickname for Catherine though, but they do sound nice together. I am a bit of a stickler though.

My dd is a Georgia, lovely name She has Carol Anne as her 2 middles names as they were my mum's names. I'm not sure why but I like the middle name to be a family orientated one. DS has dh's middle name which is also dh's dads name.

You're very well prepared my ds didn't have a name til a few weeks before he was born
