What are your thoughts on these?

Refreshing. Makes me think of handsome but sightly grating Mark Wright.

Neverseenbefore · 20/08/2023 13:23

I really like Marcus. I’m less keen on Mark/Marc.

ConstitutionHill · 20/08/2023 13:23

Mark Anthony is a gorgeous, strong classic.

TootenCarMoon · 20/08/2023 13:24

I like Marcus, have only ever met 2, both adults.

Marco is really cool too.

InvertedSugarMamma · 20/08/2023 13:25

Pros: Strong, handsome, classic, striking.
Cons: Dated, the word mark meaning stain.

WanderingWitches · 20/08/2023 13:25

I quite like them. Don't hear them much these days.

This is my brothers name. It does not say these things to me Grin

ZeldaWillTellYourFortune · 20/08/2023 13:29

Don't like Marcus but love the others.

Marc looks unfinished.

Marcus or Mark are fine, a bit vanilla, but fine.

FluffyUnicorn84 · 20/08/2023 13:35

Hate Marc, love Mark, Marcus fine.

SummerSwimminTrunks · 20/08/2023 13:36

Totally boring, beige, outmoded dad names and much prefer modern names over these sorts.

SingingSands · 20/08/2023 13:38

I prefer Mark. Good strong name.

Marc and Marcus make me cringe, no idea why!

(Was there a dodgy "bad geezer" called Marcus on a daytime soap in the 90's? Was it El Dorado?)

InvertedSugarMamma · 20/08/2023 13:46

This has got me to wonder when did the name Mark first make an appearance on English soil? I don't seem to recall any mention of it in classic literary works, unlike other more conventional names.

PurpleChrayne · 20/08/2023 13:48

All horrible.

A mark is a dirty stain.

Marcus has an awful barking sound, and is reminiscent of mucus.

beehappy19 · 20/08/2023 13:49

I like Marcus

GardenOfHam · 20/08/2023 13:49

Mark. Strong, handsome.

In Arthurian lore, Sir Mark of Cornwall is a member of King Arthur's Knights of the Round Table.

ConstitutionHill · 20/08/2023 13:50

Does your brother not look like this then @Marmite27

Marcus, Marc, Mark
PrivateSchoolTeacherParent · 20/08/2023 13:52

I have a colleague called Marc. He says that he spends his whole life explaining that it's "Marc-with-a-c" and it gets old quickly.

Already used for one of the Evangelists by Tyndale/Coverdale in the 1500s..?

continentallentil · 20/08/2023 14:34

I’d go for Marcus

I like Mark but a bit early for a revival
