Alice.

Fifthtimelucky · 30/07/2023 17:37

Alice or Sophia, depending on surname.

I have never liked Amelia, and Grace seems an unfair name to give a child who could turn out to be anything but graceful.

Lizzieeeeee · 30/07/2023 18:17

All lovely names but- to me- it feels like every second child is an Amelia (or Olivia) these days, so I’d vote one of the others. As others have said though , Alice least common in that list.

loislovesstewie · 30/07/2023 18:57

Sophia , every time!

Lexie121 · 30/07/2023 20:17

Grace is my favourite ❤️

Talkwhilstyouwalk · 30/07/2023 20:22

A first for one of these threads but I really like all of them!

Alice and Grace are = favourites
Amelia is probably my least favourite

Grace often works well as a middle name if you don't use it for the first name.

Chevrotains · 30/07/2023 20:23

Grace, it's my favourite name for a girl Smile

Talkwhilstyouwalk · 30/07/2023 20:31

Also, names tend to be popular for the reason that lots of people like them! I'm an Olivia mum and we haven't met any others at nursery so far....

Just because it is a popular name, doesn't mean there are going to be 4 of them in a class!

KnottyKnitting · 30/07/2023 20:32

I love Grace- bit biased as one of my DDs names.
Sophia

RichPetunia · 30/07/2023 20:33

Alice

Alice is my favourite, it's lovely.
Unfortunately I could never use it as my first thought is 'Who the f**k is Alice' 😂 only those who remember the song would think that though!

Yes, this crosses my mind too....

ScottishWaylander · 30/07/2023 21:17

Alice :-)

Koalasparkles · 30/07/2023 21:22

Amelia for me, definitely... then Alice

I actually don't know any Amelia's or Olivia's (well, I know 1 Olivia, but she's nearly 40 😅). I do wonder whether some names are Geographically popular?

Heb1996 · 30/07/2023 22:00

I love Sophia. I’ve got a Sophie and it’s a beautiful name for a beautiful girl.

Not Grace.
Alice was on my shortlist, and I also really like Sophia and Amelia, although I have come across a lot of little Amelia’s and Emilia’s.

Daisybuttercup12345 · 31/07/2023 00:30

Sophia though I prefer Sophie.
Alice
Grace
Amelia.
In that order.

VinEtFromage · 31/07/2023 00:33

Amelia (though prefer Amelié£

grace
sophia
alice

Ghost92 · 31/07/2023 01:01

Sophia, love this name!

Augustlou30 · 31/07/2023 01:04

I love Alice. My daughter was called Alice for about 2/3 days but she just wasn't an Alice so we changed it. You may just find she suits one of these names more xx

Hebditch · 31/07/2023 03:39

Alice

FDxx · 31/07/2023 04:10

The other three are also pretty but I just think Amelia is such a classic, it can’t be beaten

Remaker · 31/07/2023 06:00

I think they are all nice but Alice is my favourite. My older teen DD has friends with all these names. If this is the style you like (I do too) then ignore the comments about ‘overused’ etc. Now my kids are older I realise how silly it was being so worried about the popularity of a name. When I run my kids through the names they could have been called it’s the less common names that they screw up their noses at and say ‘oh thank god you didn’t choose that!’ They’re still very happy with their classic names with traditional spelling.
