Help - baby girls name!

Our beautiful baby girl is 3 weeks old today and she’s booked in to be registered tomorrow afternoon however we have no set name! Throughout pregnancy my OH and I haven’t agreed on any names and he got fed up of talking about it. The shortlist seems to be Ava, Olivia or Charlotte. I’m just not hugely sold on any of them haha! At one point we thought we’d decided on Ava, kids told everyone at school that was her name and then I got cold feet. She has an older sister and brother named Ella and Logan. Any name suggestions would be greatly appreciated! My OH is adamant that it cannot be a flower name but he was willing to consider Rose as a potential middle name. Sorry for rambling!

We can see this thread is quite old now but if you’ve landed here looking for baby naming inspo, our recently updated 1000 top girl names article may offer some ideas. Flowers

I dont like popular names. I have a popular name and i was never the only * in the room. Even now as an adult i get slightly jealous of people with a unique name. I didnt pick anything too unique for my boy but i made sure it wasnt in the top 50! My girl name list is
Orlaith/Orla not decided on the spelling!

My little girl is Harriet. I love the name and I love the nickname Hattie which I don’t expect she will use as an adult but is cute for a littley. She also gets lengthened to Harrietta (but only by me in a sing songy way!) It’s difficult to give suggestions that might work for you as we don’t know how it will flow with your surname E.g my surname ends in “ben” so when I was considering boys names anything with an “en” sound at the end was out as I did not like the nasal sounds together. I didn’t worry about sibset naming as they’ll only be a sibset for a finite period and to a finite group of people.

I have a Lacey, middle name Olivia and also have a 3 week old (tomorrow) baby girl that we called Emmie. Her middle name is Stephanie, not crazy about the middle name but I wanted her named after my dad (Stephen) who passed away

My above comment was meant to be in reply to your comment but I forgot to quote it 🙈

My daughters are Beatrix and Kiera - both could go with Rose as a middle name

Ameteurmum · 23/07/2023 20:48

My daughter is an Olivia. My eldest son is 8 and was at nursery with about 7 Olivia’s but mine is the only one at hers at the moment. All names go through phases of being popular unless you go down the Elon Musk route

JLM1981 · 23/07/2023 21:56

Charlotte 😁 sounds nice with the others.

MJ1383 · 24/07/2023 08:04

My little girl is Hazel if that helps. I didn’t want a top 100 name 🤷‍♀️ I know of the odd other one but none in her year.

RoseMartha · 24/07/2023 08:39

Flora
Jenna
Alice
Faye

Ava and Olivia both end in-a like Ella so I'd avoid that and go for Charlotte. Charlotte Rose is lovely as is Charlotte Ava, Charlotte Olivia or Charlotte Ava Rose.

YukoandHiro · 24/07/2023 16:17

Ava is the best of those as Olivia and Charlotte are extremely common now.

What about Aria or Alicia?

DuchessOfSausage · 24/07/2023 16:42

Ava has been in the top 10 most popular names for over 10 years, @YukoandHiro
