BH- I would call those quite old fashioned but having just discussed with my firnd she says they have all made a comeback and would now be classed as modern!

I have a Clementine (as in Churchill)

laundrylover · 22/02/2008 22:27

My DD2 is called Kiah which rhymes with 'Hiya'...think you can also spell it Khaja, Kaya, Kaia or Kaja - it's a name that appears all over the world!

I love India BTW in support of your DH.

J2O · 22/02/2008 22:30

Aaliegha don't know how its spelt properly though!
Leonie
Trinity
Cadie

pedilia · 22/02/2008 22:44

Pedilia - I love Kiah too but people do spell it incorrectly (ahem) and also often call her Kia, as in the car make.

Think you would have the same problem with Mia/Maya - I know a few and can never remember which is which...still like the name though.

I like India as it holds great memories for DP and I (the country that is)...but not great enough for a third baby!

J2O · 22/02/2008 22:54

A-Lee-A ifswim

i think you can spell it in loads of ways, it sounds really pretty.

J2O · 22/02/2008 22:56

oh i love India too, my 2 are Leonie and Shannon, Shannon isn't very common where i live but i gather it can be quite common in other area's, oh and lo was nearly called Willow.

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 22/02/2008 22:58

Blimey, I've named almost your entire household!

The Kaia I know rhymes with fire. Her family are Danish so it may stem from there.

laundrylover · 22/02/2008 23:02

Duchess I think I say fire and hiya the same way as Kiah!!! Could well be a Danish way...can be Polish or Hindi too. Our way is Kiswahili or Aboriginal (we have been to both areas of origin but are a very white European family so some MNers would not approve!).
