Can't go wrong with Nicholas, a lovely classic name and have never heard any issue with knickerless?! Nico is nice nn too. As is Nick. You may have no control over that.
Reuban is nice too! Sorry not much help!

Nicholas

With Reuben I would think you're a very religious family (Pentecostal/Evangelical) or that it is a family name, not one you chose because you liked it.

There are millions of Reubens about.

I would go for Nicholas simply because Reuben is so overused. Nico is a great nn

Reuben Nicholas Surname sounds good. Nice rhythm.

beetsbearsbattlestargalactica · 24/06/2023 20:38

Nicholas is a really wet name to name. Reuben wins it for me

Seashor · 26/06/2023 00:15

As another poster said , I was at school with a Knickerless so I’d steer well clear of that one.

I love Reuben, look up Reuben Ash, very cool Cornish surfer.

Reuben.
Not knickerless.

LiquoriceAllsorts2 · 05/07/2023 22:06

I like Reuben best and would shorten it to Roo

EggInANest · 05/07/2023 23:16

Reuben - lovely

user1492757084 · 06/07/2023 03:22

Nicholas for me.

IamThegreaterMole · 06/07/2023 03:26

Nicholas, I don’t like the sound of Reuben and it’s a bit faddy at the moment

Einevinefine · 06/07/2023 03:38

Much prefer Nicholas.

Derrymum123 · 06/07/2023 03:59

Reuben for sure. A good Jewish name, strong and lovely. Nicholas is Santa's name. Very Christmas like and a bit wet.

Thisbastardcomputer · 06/07/2023 06:08

My son is Nicholas, when he was small his friend was Antony. They called each other knickers and pants, just a bit of fun no bullying.

Gatoraid · 06/07/2023 06:12

Reuben

NeverThatSerious · 06/07/2023 06:35

Nicholas, nn Nico (or Nick actually!), love 😍 Reuben, overused and boring, imo.

PerspiringElizabeth · 06/07/2023 06:38

Nicholas! I know about 6 little Reubens (all spelled differently - Ruben, Reuben, Rueben) and no Nicholases. Nicholas is a perfect name.

Also Reuben will half the time be Roo-bin and half the time Roo-bn. The latter makes me cringe for some reason 😄

ChickenMacaroni · 06/07/2023 06:42

Love all the knickerless comments, though the Reuben I know is called Roob the Boob or Bourbon like the biscuit 😅

They're both nice names. I think if you're in UK you might struggle to get Nico used as a diminutive once he's at school though - it'll end up Nick or Nicky unless you give Nico as "preferred name". Nee-coe doesn't phonetically comes from Nik-er-les.
