Girl's name help please?

So I have a boy's name that I am dead set on - Albie. I love it and it was a super easy choice to make.

For girl's names I like Esme and Aurora.
Esme - I like the sound, spelling and easy pronounciation, it's pretty, short and sweet and I like French names. However I'm not completely in love with the name and I feel like it's pretty well used.
Aurora - I love the sound and meaning of the name. My partner and I have seen the Aurora Borealis a couple times and it's really special to us, which gives the name a magical and nostalgic feel. I also love the nickname Rory. I don't know whether Aurora is too much of a mouthful though. Especially because baby's surname will be Richards.

I like names that are vowel heavy, begin with A or E, are French, whimsicle and soft.

Other girl's names I like are :
Alma
Avery (too similar to Ava? which I'm not keen on)
Elodie (Elle)
Elori (Elle)
Freya
Hazel
Indie
Renee (Wren)

Opinions on these names? And any other name suggestions?

Esme - Esmee or Esmay? I'm not keen
Aurora - use it as a middle name.
Alma - not sure. Alma Sedgwick on Corrie
Avery (too similar to Ava? which I'm not keen on) - me neither. Avery is too close to Aviary
Elodie (Elle) - meh
Elori (Elle) - looks made up
Freya - meh
Hazel - ok
Indie - not keen
Renee (Wren) - Renee is quite nice when said as Renay. Wren isn't

Estelle?
Heloise or Eloise?
Nicole?
From your list, I like Elodie, Freya, Hazel and Renée

I quite like Rory for a girl. Aurora Richards is quite tricky to say though and Rory Richards isn't the best either. That's a lot of Rs.

Vowel-heavy names. Oriana. Leonora. Theodora. Elinora. Elowen. Isadora. Aria. Arietty. Elise. Estelle. Odelle. Odette. Ellena.

Other French-style names maybe Celeste?

But how about shorter E names like Edda or Ebba or Elva.

Hazel seems very different from vowel-heavy and soft and maybe French-style. I really like it maybe because of the nature association and the sound of the word. On a more woodland theme maybe things like Rowan, Laurel, Ivy, Sylvie or Juniper?

Aurora Richards is fine but not to say often.
Use Aurora as a second name.

Elsie Aurora
Anais Aurora
Cosette Aurora
Cosima Eloise
Clotilde Amelie
Elise Aurora
Ambre Cecile
Lilou Capucine
Brigitte Aurora

I like Esme, Alma and Freya. Not keen on your other options, especially Aurora, Elodie, Indie and Avery. Was also going to suggest Sylvie like another PP.

Esme is a lovely name.

Really really dislike Aurora

Alma - makes me think of Alma from Home and Away donkeys years ago
Avery (too similar to Ava? which I'm not keen on) Avery is pretty
Elodie (Elle) don't like
Elori (Elle) don't like
Freya I like this
Hazel I like this and its not overused
Indie love but I only know boys with this name
Renee (Wren) don't like Wren, really like Renee but not very baby-ish (nice for when she's an adult though)

I’d go for Freya of that lot

MooseBreath · 18/06/2023 12:58

Rory Richards is alliteration that is quite nice and memorable. Aurora Richards is a bit too much of a mouthful.

Elodie is nice.

Adelaide
Anneliese
Aurelia
Elise

Esme - Esmee or Esmay? Lovely is Esmee. Hate the other.

Aurora - I find it difficult to say

Alma - ugly name

Avery nivce byr prefer Everly
Elodie ok
Elori (Elle) - ok
Freya - no
Hazel - ok
Indie - I like India
Renee (Wren) - love Wren but better names as a full name

Happymummydays · 18/06/2023 18:14

Alma
Avery - i feel is more of a boys name
Elodie - makes me think of "melody", very pretty
Elori (Elle) - not keen
Freya - pretty but well used
Hazel - pretty and classic
Indie - not loving it
Renee (Wren) - don't like Renee but do like Wren

elizabell · 18/06/2023 18:30

I have the same taste as you! I love French names and those with lots of vowels. I think they look gorgeous ☺️

My long time favourite is Eloise. I think Elodie Wren flows beautifully, as does Clara Eloise.

Hollyppp · 20/06/2023 15:30

Alma - a bit too lumpy for me
Avery (too similar to Ava? which I'm not keen on) - avery is a bird cage no?
Elodie (Elle) - sweet
Elori (Elle) - not keen
Freya - like it
Hazel - like it
Indie - makes me think of Joe wicks
Renee (Wren) - makes me think of those Renny tablets

how about Alba or Etta?

Carleyroo · 20/06/2023 15:35

My daughter is called Romy and I think that's a similar style. Both Albie and Romy are short, modern NN for old fashioned names x

ODFOx · 20/06/2023 15:46

Chloe
Amelie
Claire
Michelle
Clarice
Irene ( pronounced Irrenn) ( short I hard N)
Elea (Elleya)
Aurelie is less 'Ry' than Aurora and more French. Could that suit?

All are French, vowel heavy and not on your list. I know they don't all begin with A or E though.

Rory Richards is a bit R heavy imo.

FangsForTheMemory · 20/06/2023 20:52

Aude
Garance

Kanaloa · 20/06/2023 20:55

I would avoid Aurora/Rory although I think it’s lovely just because Rory Richards is a bit of a tongue twister. I like Esme and personally don’t think it’s that overused. It’s very pretty. The only one from your list that I dislike is Renee. I don’t think it lends itself to a full name for Wren, because in Renee I don’t put the emphasis on the ‘Ren’ sound.

Would Alba work? You love Albie, so a baby Alba could be called Albie too!

darkmodeon · 20/06/2023 20:59

Eloise
